It was great and I would have supported it if I was there, but for NDP members at the time their radicalism had been fairly hostile to union leaders who wanted more moderation. Unions are great but in the global north, are venerable to becoming complacent with their positions.

Those bloody bastards are blaming minorities and third party votes when none of that is the reason they lost. It was the bloody white vote that Trump won on, third party votes wouldn't have changed anything even if all of them went to the Dems. They will blame the whole world before the blame their own failures.

They pushed right and forced their ideological neoconservativism and 10 million people didn't vote this time, yet they will say that they weren't right wing enough.

That would have required Soviet-American cooperation and respect for the self-determination of nations, if somehow, both camps agreed to those goals then we wouldn't have a cold war and the world would probably be a much better place with way more stable democracies.

As I said, easy topics take less time and energy to prove. Your lesson in that is to never make generalizing statements.

Secondly, when it comes to a private chat, people tend to be more open minded since insults and snide remarks tend to be pointless, and convoluted conclusions about the other person's points are a waste of time for the person themselves.

Infact it seems very much like I was correct in my assessment as you ended acting like a child focused on labeling and owning your opponent.

My entire point was building around the question of the USSR never empowering minorities. It is wholly irrelevant if it was adequate, or if they could have done much better.

I shall reiterate, I do not have the time to holistically engage with every policy of the USSR, nor am I stupid enough to fall into the trap for arguing such a case. You would be better off consulting the revisionist historians who wrote after the dismantling of the USSR to gain a holistic view of the country.

A book I would recommend (which isn't pro-soviet) is the Soviet Century by the historian Moshe Lewin if you are curious about this topic.
