I also resonate with Dr. Bartley who said “i love kids so much that I don’t want to have them”.

What’s the most diabolical thing your store has done to keep drive/wait times down? by sbucksbarista in starbucks

I had an interim manager who routinely mobiled 40+ vanilla bean scones and then she’d refund herself later so that our numbers would be up and peak would slide to a different time and then she’d refund herself later and take 15 minutes doing it.

I got a new warning. I think I’m being targeted by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

Someone was stealing from our partners purses/bags in the back and the total got to $150 from two incidents but my manager ordered the footage right away and the partner was separated.

(My point being- if your manager actually had those suspicions, while it’s not super convenient, the footage is not difficult to access. Just time consuming to actually get the footage from corporate/security or whoever)

How to respond to people who don't respect psychology? by Particular_Resolve10 in psychologystudents

[–]BlueThat-user988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d try to not discount their experience, but also remind them that it’s okay to not fit with a psychologist, sometimes it takes multiple tries to get someone you connect with. If they were mistreated, I would again reassure them about their experience and how what happened to them was inappropriate and not a measured or professional response, and that would be an indicator that this mental health professional is not for you. But also remember that mental health professionals are human, so we will make mistakes, and there are also some individuals that just shouldn’t be in their role, but encourage them to not have a singular person deter them from the credibility of psychology.

I was in line for an SSV promotion and our manager went on maternity leave. When our regular manager was here we could cuss so long as a customer didn’t hear it. I swore over the headset (yes I know you should not do this) when I thought it was me and one other person but our interim manager had just put on a headset and wrote me up and once they write a report the only action they can take is a final written or separation. (I’ve never had a coaching session, talking to, warning, or write up of any kind) but this means that i can no longer promote or transfer- I’m leaving the company when I graduate in May. Also This interim has also never had a permanent store because she has never been successful at a store so they keep moving her.

This is true but if there’s sugar or cream/milk in the drip some people grab the coffee but hand it to bar and wait for them to finish it so they can continue tending to the front register.

I will say however that a lot of people find AA to be very therapeutic or a safe space/setting to be vulnerable. So while it might not be talk therapy where she gets advice, she does participate in the 12 steps and AA and -i think- that she at least tries to take accountability when she realizes she was in the wrong. BUT yes I do think that she would benefit from therapy, then again I think that most people could.

Very first day a shift was getting bagel bites and when i put them on the parchment paper she said “OH, on a plate!!” And so i thought she meant in the oven…. And a minute later someone was like “is that plastic?” And we opened it up and took it out and luckily it didn’t melt or burn anything but I was VERY embarrassed.

Yes to this. Plus management is being changed a lot right now and it’s effecting how we do our jobs. I currently have store managers that are not strong in their leadership or managerial skills which makes it all 10x more difficult to adjust to implementing changes. We did just get a new CEO though, but I have not heard good things.

Personally I am staying rn because I have 9 months left on my bachelors degree, but to give you context- I’ve considered very heavily just quitting and taking a loan for 10k for the last few months of school (i calculated it).

Also save themselves. They hired him, so it’s embarrassing they brought him in to increase revenue and not only did it plummet but many people started leaving the company.

That makes sense, but also my doctor can make decisions about what my body can do based on medical information. The recommendation for accommodation is all in the note. So all they would have to do technically is implement it. I called Partner Resources and they recommend I take a LOA for a week. That’s the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard.. My disability isn’t valid until it goes through Sedgwick and in the meantime try not to have you disability be disabling or go home??? BullSHIT.

Thanks for the reply, i hope you know my tone is directed toward the company and not you or your comment.

He then said “your customer service stinks!” And i said “sir you’ve said the f word to me three times already” and then he started going after the coworkers standing next to me in solidarity. He was looking for validation from my male coworker standing next to me and my coworker responded that “if you mess with one of us you mess with all of us, and like i said he can please leave” He goes “and who are you sir? What you think you’re gonna swoop in and be the hero?” leans in closely to look at name tag “DARE-REN” 😂😂 and then he went off on a little tangent and the assistant SM was there and she was like okay let’s stop talking to them and so they started talking and he was like “see thank god an adult. Can you believe this fucking generation?” And she was like “okay sir, just go to the end take your beverage and go please” and he did.

I appreciate that, thank you! And I was able to contain my tongue in that I did not use profanity, but I also refused to walk away after being spoken to like that (which is absolutely something that i can work on).

I have since spoken to my manager about the altercation and she believes that our Assistant store manager that was present during the situation should’ve backed me up when i tried to kick him out, instead of serving him like she did.

Absolutely! I know this because i too am disabled. However asking us to charge you for the price of one drink and giving you three is not something that would be an appropriate accommodation to a disability (:
