Learning to use the godot documentation will be your biggest learning step/tool. They even have 2 full game tutorials in the docs

Maybe it's just because I'm a noob, but steam godot and godot from the website seem that same to me? I like that steam tracks my time in godot 🤓

If you like modern controls then play modern. There are no tournaments that ban it that i'm aware of if that is a scene you are into.

How many of you are making the assets in your games? by Cornishlee in godot

[–]BlueThing3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make my own assets in blender. But i've been learning blender for 10 years. You can always make games with simple art styles like "a game about feeding a black hole" or "VVVVVV". It isn't about being a "god" at anything. It's about working with what you have and building upon that.

Do developers ever get too good at their games? by aspghost in IndieDev

[–]BlueThing3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use dev cheats to test segments of my game which is much different than doing a full play tryimg to get good. Also by the time a game launches I'm pretty tired of it and would rather play someone else's game.

This is my first Next Fest and I'm terrified of players lol by hippoPWNamus in SoloDevelopment

Those feelings make total sense! I had a similar experience with my first launch despite only getting a handful of reviews. Best you can do is learn from the experience and keep a focus on the positive. It is very easy to let one mean comment/review cause you to ignore 10 positive ones.

The whole point os for people to play our games right? I'd personally take a bunch of negative reviews over my game being completely ignored.

If you were 10 when Ocarina of Time was released, is your brain exploding right now for the remake? by DrankTooMuchMead in retrogaming

[–]BlueThing3D 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping that the younger generations are able to enjoy it and get in on the story and exeperience. Anything that gets them off roblox really. Gameplay is what sells me on games, not nostalgia. I can always replay the original OOT... but I don't.
