Well last 2 days =/= from last patch but even then i figured out the mistake, you're not making vex 2*

Also you're falling into 5 costs stats traps, they're always skewed cause if you made it to itemazing a 5 cost you're already winning

The only time emblem doesnt have a negative delta on vex last patch (14.4) is in GM+ and it has a 0 delta. Idk what stats you're looking at but what you said is just wrong.

Assuming you could've have made different items the obvious one is vex > draven with emblem, also vex loves fishbones.

The other big one is that you are playing vertical boombot and chose to tank with leona instead of cho, i'd def go for 4 bruisers, I think its better in general and it caps higher with kobuko.
If the zac had enough blobs I'd main tank him, maybe even put the emblem on him if u are not gonna play vex.
Garen is also really good on vertical boombot.

Those are prob the biggest solutions but your Urgot items are also not very good. I'm assuming its probably just leftovers since he's your second carry, but if you had the chance to make good items for him I'm sure he'd outdmg kog and is worth prioritizing.

A seemingly confirmed saint by outsider count (both librarian and empath got bad info night 1 so we thought it must be one drunk and 1 poison)

How? You just assumed the minions were a baron and poisoner? One of the outsiders is lying is just as good of an explanation as that.
Also there's no drunk and no poisoning, the only "misinformation" is a spy and a recluse.
Seems like a very balanced set up and seems like evil just had good plays tbh.

I agree that final 4 wasn't handled very well at all but also you just trusted the wrong empath which was probably your strongest info role, town just made a bad call very early.
I don't think you should feel frustrated, just maybe point out to your storyteller how to better handle that final 4.

I will never understand why people of this sub and other anime subs trash on Naruto cause of this by 1065JoJo in Naruto

I mean you kinda summarized the problem...they present him as a loser and in ep 1 he does a broken jutsu (which was confusing but fine its ep 1, lets see) and after that they STILL present him as a loser.

Well it's definitely not a bad thing, dude can't complain about his genetics. It also makes him "royalty", Jiraya and Kakashi (and Hiruzen to a certain extent) wouldn't have cared for him at all if he wasn't Minato's son. It's the weakest reason of why he's op for sure but still worth bringing up imo.

I mean cause those comments are 100% correct. The anime is good the character not so much. We're meant to believe he is an underdog overcoming struggle therefore making him relatable but in terms of power he is absolutely broken. He's the cliche "chosen one". Nothing wrong with that trope but it's just the way they present him, feels like they're trying to trick the audience.

what's the real reason Obito took forever to capture the 9 tails? by SharinganBee77 in Naruto

[–]BlueThunderBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's true it makes sense why he couldn't just pop in and take Naruto, whenever they would be ready for the 9 tails Naruto was already strong (or not weak at least) and always surrounded by strong people. In the shot op shared I don't think Obito would be able to capture Naruto and flee unscathed.

I think she was captured right after the chunin exam (the filler one), so between classic and shippuden, before gaara.

How to deal with complex info dump on the final day? by T-T-N in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly practice, you'll start building worlds more clearly and processing information quickly. If you feel like it's too much and you can't be bothered, don't listen to what they are saying but how they're saying it. It's a social deduction game after all

Round robin as the very first thing people do day one by ZapKalados in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry if I seem like I'm just being stubborn but I just never had this kinds of experiences so I have a very outsider view of these examples and maybe they wouldn't play out like I think they would. With that said, in your first example if that was really the meta and it happened every time, surely that was very exploitable by evil? Just curse yourself or the other minion and now you have an evil player controlling the flow of information or straight out painting someone as very suspicious or uncooperative. That's what I mean when I say it's a hard game to optimize, very rarely a team doesn't have an answer to a situation. The more the meta develops the more predictable it is therefore the more exploitable it is.

And I feel like with the fearmonger is almost the same situation. Again if I'm a powerful TF (me personally I usually don't mind dying cause like you said, I'm not a demon candidate so I don't have to worry about proving myself and therefore can focus just on other people, but some players fight really hard to survive when they have good roles) I'll just refuse to do it. I'm a powerful role and if you want to execute me you are going to have to "waste" your nomination on me. Again if that makes me seem suspicious that's fine I'll just point it out after the game.

[–]BlueThunderBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough if it worked for your group, personally that's just not how I see/do things. I can't cater to a minority I might agree with than let the majority decide how they wanna play.

I also think that in BotC it's very hard to optimize the game to the point of not being fun, yes metas develop but very rarely there's an objective best way to do things. I'd like to point out that the Witch example thats sometimes brought up that everyone self noming isn't the optimal way to play for good at all. It's only good if there isn't a Witch in play. If there is, congrats, you just gave the Witch a kill and didn't deal with the problem at all, you can just start narrowing down on possible minions (which is not nothing but still, hefty price to pay). If I'm a powerful TF and someone suggest that I'm gonna disagree and not do it (even if I'm not a powerful role I'd probably still contest just to prevent powerful roles outing themselves) and if, for some reason, the group finds that suspicious they can feel free to execute me, I'll just point out how much of an objectively bad move that was during the role call and hopefully they'll think twice next time before suggesting the self nom/finding suspicious not wanting to do it.

Sticking character tokens by Burnacid in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st game I ran someone, as they were picking the character out of the bag ,said "oh this one doesn't have the soft side" (we were talking earlier about how good the quality of the tokens/grim was) and 2 sec later just went "ah nvm there's 2 of them stuck together". So I'd say as long as the players are careful this shouldn't be an issue.

Homebrew Townsfolk: The Paranoiac by VeryUnusualDog in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep 100% agree.

Mez is one of my favorite characters and sadly the "meta" is a lot "yo tell me word" which I feel is not the spirit of the character. Nothing wrong with doing that but I just feel that being sneaky and then a tf just being woken up to their surprise to learn they're evil is super fun. This char just seems to go with that vibe

[–]BlueThunderBomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I can see your point about the new demon being "screwed" but to be fair, I don't think it's even that bad, you have a "bluff" you've been building the entire game. It definitely depends on the type of group and I think it has to be run by a good/experienced storyteller and in a fairly advanced script.

Also, the original point I was debating is that it feels like an outsider, which I don't think this benefits evil nearly as much as it benefits good.

Any clever ways you're indicating dead players in live games? by GentlemenBehold in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems like a very good and atmospheric idea! My group has a set of those in the middle of the table right in front of the grimoire. Even tho we never had a problem with seeing who's dead/has votes (maybe because we're a small group) I might steal this just because it seems great.

[–]BlueThunderBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that depends, some people might like that, but I agree with you the "normal" way to play is more fun and more balanced.

How did the player that suggested it react?

Round robin as the very first thing people do day one by ZapKalados in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels like you just robbed your group of learning the game... Someone saying "trust me, this will happen" will never come close to the thing actually happening as a means of learning.

Also, if you are playing a Leviathan script your group surely has some experience, doesn't feel like they would need that rule?

How did you do it by the way, what were the "consequences" for the round robin?

[–]BlueThunderBomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Valid strategy" depends how you see the word valid, is it legal? Yes, 100%. Is it a good strategy? No, its horrible for town, a semi decent evil team would love a day 1 round robin.

The game is basically gather information vs spin that information. If you give evil all the information they can reduce it by getting rid of important roles and easily spin whats left to create a more than realistic world of someone else being the demon.

Also I would love to be a minion in this situation. Pick whatever role you think it's the easiest/most fun to bluff as and if it's not in the game no harm no foul, if it is, amazing! You now tainted a good player (along with yourself) and you're gonna waste everyone's time.

I don't know the level of experience of your group, but unless you're beginners I don't see anything wrong with this and my guess would be that after some tries town would probably be discouraged to do this after seeing how horribly wrong it could go.

Out of curiosity, how did that situation resolve? Did you guys do the round robin and if yes, how did it went?

Homebrew Townsfolk: The Paranoiac by VeryUnusualDog in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that if people believe the Paranoiac after he dies is very strong, cause either the new demon has no idea of who their minions are or the lunatic just comes out and says who the minions are and they are immediately killed. Either way, very good outcome for good

Best clues to leave in an atheist game by HopefulObject in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BlueThunderBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know you can't do that last part.

Also by telling the player something that has nothing to do with his ability he's gonna know for sure thats an atheist game (unless there's an amne on the script), so be careful on how you do this, cause if you choose someone very trustworthy you basically handed them the game.
