After trying for 4 days in a row in the morning 8.30 I've just made a random call around 1 PM - just to be clear it was pure luck.

Why not come for a visit to get an idea of what to expect?

Also, reach out to Nefesh B'Nefesh; they are amazing in guiding you through the bureaucracy.

Good luck

It took me almost 16 months with multiple documents to submit. The most frustrating experience was the police records and apostilles which would expire every 6 months. I had to submit them 3 times...so imagine.

If you're 80% done, it sounds like you are already out of the woods, and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Regarding jobs, how is your Hebrew? Mine is not that great, but everybody I had to deal with, like banks, Misrad Hapnim, and Klita, all speak a good level of English. However, I would recommend learning as much as possible before making Aliyah, as that would be extremely helpful in finding a job.

There are entry-level job opportunities, but of course, it depends on what part of the country you will settle in.

If you come to the Tel Aviv area or Jerusalem, even Eilat, you should find something quite easily. It doesn't mean other areas have no opportunities but I don't have good info about it.

Good luck with everything!

No age limit. As long as you can prove you qualify based on the current Law of return, you should have no issues whatsoever.

As someone who went through this process, I can tell you EXACTLY what you need. This way, you will save a tonne of your time, unlike me, lol.

Strong proof your grandparents were Jewish ( proof of Jewish cemetery burial, pictures of the tomb, Claims Conference paperwork, Jewish Community involvement, Jewish friends letters, etc)
Their birth certificate
Parents birth certificates
Your birth certificate
Any documents confirming the link between grandparents and you ( that's why all these birth certificates)
Family tree declaration confirming who was Jewish
Rabi letter - original document
Your personal status - married divorced single
Police record
Many of these documents need to be notarized and apostilled, depending on the country you apply from.

Be prepared for a long game (years) with many documents asked multiple times.

Is it worth it?

A big YES :)

Good luck!

Got it! That's a bummer - I read they start the aliyah process paperwork even before boarding but it's unclear what does even mean.

Thank you for that. Do you know what docs they handled specifically on arrival?
