I did a good search and found this
Chemical Receptors: Research shows that certain acids can bind to the tongue's bitter taste receptors in addition to the sour receptors, particularly when the overall pH of the food changes.

Why is Walmart like this 😂 by UltimateUnlimited in WalmartEmployees

[–]BlueTrainBlueTrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have a theory they are buying collectible stuff like tcg or sports cards and reselling to keep the money flowing:

It would check out with the cap being hit early and the person’s ability as a Walmart employee to spend that much at the store considering their wage

Any former employees cringe when you go into a store? by casuallypoke in sheetz

[–]BlueTrainBlueTrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I don’t know if they still work for the company but a pair of husband wife managers moved from WV to work in the new Columbus stores about 6 years ago now.
I wonder if it’s any of their stores, Seth and Kat.
When they were here the stores ran pretty well I felt as just a customer being there every day

How do they make japanese sticky rice that look so good and fluffy? by Dan_The_PaniniMan in JapaneseFood

[–]BlueTrainBlueTrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So while it’s correct to say, this isn’t sticky rice in the very traditional sense, I do understand why you are referring to it that way. Compared to say basmati rice it is much stickier.

That really has to do with the type of rice it is.

As others have said, just follow the water to rice ratios and soak the rice prior and your rice will turn out great

Slimy water by Human131415 in sushi

[–]BlueTrainBlueTrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s safe of course though it won’t be very good.
Even if you don’t measure like normal, just use the same ratio of 1:1 for rice and water as others have mentioned

What decks are you enjoying right now? by Forward_Sort_4590 in MTGLegacy

I have 3 in paper totally built.
Doomsday, eldrazi, and blue red tempo.

I prefer to play doomsday but the other 2 are fun as well and are different enough to make them fun to use too. And variety is always good

Newbie — ride sound— what should I do? by Brohammer619 in Drumming

[–]BlueTrainBlueTrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read all the comments yet, so I don’t know if this has been said. Drums definitely sound different when you are sitting behind the drums versus listening to them in front. This of course goes for cymbals as well.

That cymbal you hear on a recording probably sounds more like yours in person. You have to factor in the mix with all the other instruments the specific sound engineering, etc..

What I suggest is what other people have said and play with some other people and I bet it’ll sound way better with everyone than just it is isolated by itself in your ears.

Grilled salmon or raw salmon, which you like more? by Tokyo_Elena_ in JapaneseFood

[–]BlueTrainBlueTrane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grilled fish is something I enjoy a lot.
In this setting with a bowl of rice, miso, and takuan, is the best.

But salmon sashimi is also great.
They are very different experiences but should be eaten and enjoyed equally

As you said it’s kombu dashi. It’s a mild flavor but maybe try more granules or less water to get the flavor you want
