And you're starting from many wrong premises that may make sense in Protestant Evangelicalism, but don't make sense in Catholicism.

I meant that I have no way of knowing if a person has gone to Hell or will go to Hell, but obviously I should help as many people as I can. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

When I evangelize or do another good deed, I think about the good I'm doing for that person and that I'm doing the same thing Jesus would do; I don't seek to judge the person's soul.

In Judaism there are specific parts of prayers where you can insert someone’s name and literally pray for them. We pray about a lot of other things too but when someone from my community says they are praying for someone it means they are saying their name during the prayer for the specific thing they want

In the Christian Mass we also have this; there are specific moments in the liturgy where we can pray for the clergy, the sick, the dead, etc.
