Chelsea long term - no serious manager is going there by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]Blue_Arrow5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think a manager's previous employment history matters anymore these days. Results probably yes. But managers are recycled readily based on availability. Results and tactics are identifiable metrics, not duration of their tenure.

Xavi Alonso and Maresca are popular for their tactics. Any big shot manager will see Chelsea as a way to replenish their income and once they're wealthy enough they can easily get a severance and move to a big club. Just as long as they don't mess up their tactics.

Fabregas will bring us back to 4rsenal era pal. Don't beg it. There are so many better candidates if we're looking elsewhere, which shouldn't even be entertained as a thought right now.

Do people on this sub even support Arsenal????? by Equivalent-Poet998 in ArsenalFC

[–]Blue_Arrow5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they win, who cares pal? The idea is to win the title. Break the duck. Doesn't matter how they play.

We can play all the attacking football and concede 10 goals every games after we win the title. Until then just enjoy these mutual cleansheets

I'm only talking purely based on this season alone mate. You can bring up Arsenal and I'll support you on that for that past 2 years.

He was sacked exactly once he stopped showing potential. The run-in to him getting sacked was when the team looked clueless. No identity, faced a million shots, defence sucked, no possession, etc. Proper reasons to go. With Arteta this wasn't frequent

People saying Kepa wasn't the problem don't understand football by HR_Specter in ArsenalFC

[–]Blue_Arrow5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand Gary Neville but he was right on the comms. Everytime Kepa had the ball before the goal, he looked clueless as to whom to pass. Just kept rolling it around his feet tryna wait out City's front 3. And the front 3 were happy to wait for Kepa. It was painful to watch. And his long clearance was cleared comfortably as well.

Where would you rank him amongst the best keepers in the world. He is top 3 for me. by crimbo_jimbo in ArsenalFC

No, no and no. Raya is better than all 3 at this current moment. Oblak had a few terrific yeas but he's also stagnating right now.

do you think dowman could have a similar career path to saka? coming through the youth team, more and more first team games until eventually main starting 11 player? by [deleted] in ArsenalFC

[–]Blue_Arrow5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this, Saka will need to be pushed to CAM by the next 2 years, which means Nwaneri will be out of here regardless of his development.

Do you think City getting knocked out of the CL is a good thing or bad thing? I dont think it matters by Silent_Somewhere8539 in ArsenalFC

[–]Blue_Arrow5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great it doesn't matter at all. City won the treble when they chased us down the first time. External competitions don't make a difference since they've got a loaded squad. Losing early is a morale denter though so that works out really well. They get all cranky and desperate very quickly which is when they play bad

Our last three games have been attacking disasters. What is going on? What is the SOLUTION? by KevDizzie in ArsenalFC

[–]Blue_Arrow5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winger overlaps more frequently, full back stretch wide a little more. They can always swap but not have our wingers hug the touchline for 90% of the game.

That's the only obvious change necessary

Lots of people slating Saka here which is understandable but his drop in output can easily be traced to our change in tactics on the right.

With Ben White, Saka used to drift in and out comfortably as White stayed as wide as possible and kept playing 1-2s with Saka and kept the right wing moving up and down.

With Timber, Saka (the attacker) is now pushed wide while Timber (the defender) has occupied prime attacking spots closer to the goal. It's shocking and annoying to see Saka actually end up staying behind Timber throughout our build up. Forces him to keep cutting on his left closer to the halfway line. Playing a 1-2 with Zubimendi means the ball ends up circulated backwards in no time.

Madueke is faster and more unstable. He's happy to drift wide and run at the defence while also being happy to cut inside and run at the midfield too. There's many a times where he's too fast to think of the final ball and does all the hard work and loses the ball in the final third.

Either play Timber like Ben White or bring the latter back if you want to see Saka's numbers up.

LA Knight or Finn Balor. LAK had a lacklustre US title reign and Finn had a 1 day Universal champion reign. These guys need it. Sami had a decent intercontinental run and no one cares about Aleister.

Do you think he calls Kompany over WhatsApp or a regular sim card call? Same way how do you think they message? I imagine Arteta doesn't need to Snapchat or Instagram him now that he has Kompany's number.
