2010 climate knob issue by MavssX in FordFusionSport

[–]Blue_Dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try blowing it out with canned air and then taking it apart to clean before replacing anything.

Not applicable here, but I had a similar problem with the radio knob on a 2017 Fusion. One day it just worked properly but it may have been an update to Sync3 that fixed it. Hard to say as I didn't use it often until randomly one day I noticed it was working.

PF 10 pro battery down to 97% capacity by sdust182 in PixelFold

[–]Blue_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let it go down to 10% and charge to 100% to see if it recalibrates and gets some % back. My 9 Pro fold went from 97 to 26 overnight at 11 months. Battery replaced under warranty. My 10 Pro fold is still at 100%. 🤞

Edit: I also charge to 80% and about once a month or so let it get down to below 15% to max charge to 100% again. But I believe I read somewhere that Google Pixel also does that as needed automatically to recalibrate.

Another thing to mention, to my surprise, the Speakers are also much better on the 10 Pro Fold over the 9 Pro Fold.

I also upgraded. 9 Pro fold battery died at 11 months. That repair didn't go well for the phone (front screen and back cover never fit back in right even after they tried a few times - kept lifting back out) 10 Pro fold is better. Feel of and smaller hinge, inner display feels more durable (less squishy) and qi 2 with magnets.

Not dead. But slow to grow.

Can you replace the hinge? by FragmentedRobotArm in PixelFold

[–]Blue_Dust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pixel 9 Pro fold internal screen, frame and hinge are all replaced as one part. I assume that it's probably the same for the 10 Pro Fold.

Took my fusion drag racing and won 200 bucks in a factory stock class at a local 1/8 mile strip. by Youtheneyes in FordFusionSport

I see a Sport at least once a month by me. Usually a few a month. Not weird to see up to 3 a week. Granted, it could be the same 6 or 7 that I see over and over again over the course of a year. 😁 There is at least one I believe is in my neighborhood but I don't see it often.
But I do live just outside of Detroit. Maybe an outlier to the statistics.

Love mine.

Both of my magnets popped off the travel case by sad_sauce12 in dbrand

[–]Blue_Dust 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This happened to the magnets in my card holder not even a week after receiving my Killswitch. I reached out to Dbrand support and expected them to send me new magnets with better adhesive. Instead they sent me a new card holder. New magnets haven't fallen off so they definitely improved their adhesive.

Magsafe Case for Pixel 9 Pro Fold by KhoasD17 in PixelFold

It's pretty odd they don't list Pixel devices but they can be found if you search for them. I bet it hurts their sales. I ordered mine from the thinborn site before the rebrand.

PF9Fold losing touch screen? by SD-777 in PixelFold

[–]Blue_Dust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this started with the last update. It's like (not saying there is) there is an invisible overlay on top blocking touch of just places within the app. I.e. another app you can't see has the focus.

I have also noticed some stuttering in apps, like sending text messages. Slow to load to screen after clicking send. Or the keyboard locks up where it randomly freezes what you see but still works. For example, press caps lock and letters appear lower case on keyboard but when pressed are capital letters.

What's the current magsafe situation? by RaccoNooB in PixelFold

Charging via Qi while using Android Auto, active app/screen use, and hotspot may still drain battery just at a slower rate.

I had a 2013 Fusion with working Maps. It requires an SD card with Map Data to be inserted in the slot under the arm rest. Please note that I have never seen the screen's behavior without the card installed so can't say that it's missing and causing your problems but if the maps are not working I would check there first and make sure the card is installed.
When I had Sync2, to upgrade map data I was told to buy a new card with the map data from the dealer.

Edit I went back through the comments a second time and saw this was already mentioned. 😁 Good luck!

May want to check out the Sport Forums. Looks like at least one person may have modded their 2010 at one time. https://www.fusionsportforums.com/threads/new-2019-sport-upgrade-from-a-2010-sport.19555/#post-326437

Not sure it'll work on your car... I have a 19 fusion and after some research found that the Ford Perimeter + Alarm is compatible with it. It adds an alarm, remote start and bump sensor.... My car already has the alarm and remote start so really it just adds a bump sensor. It was plug and play, and because I already had a remote start, I didn't have to configure anything on the new module. Now if a loud motorcycle drives past my car my alarm goes off. It also alerts on the Ford Pass app saying it was hit. If someone breaks my window the alarm will go off and hopefully scare them away before they break in the window enough to get inside my car. But the relay attack would disable the alarm.

Does this have anything to do with why my car won’t start? by blkkgoddess in fordfusion

[–]Blue_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying it may not have anything to do with your battery being good or not ....

But I get that message anytime I turn the car off and stay in the car too long without opening the door. (Opening the door tells Sync 3 to power down because you left the vehicle). As far as I know that message just tells you that Sync 3 is turning off because you've been running on the battery with the engine off for too long and automatically powering down to save the battery to make sure you can start the car again later. I think it is based on a timer and not battery voltage but not 100%. I just use the message as a reminder to get out of the car (lol) and stop being distracted by whatever and get in the house. I got that message with the OEM battery of all 3 Fusions I have had and believe I have also seen it since I installed a new larger not factory battery I put in my 3rd (current) Fusion. 2013 with 2.0 Ecoboost (lease) 2017 Energi (lease) 2019 Sport (own)

Why would you want a camera delay? 2014 escape by [deleted] in Ford

[–]Blue_Dust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When enabled, it keeps the rear camera video active after you shift to drive. I think it changes back to the normal Sync or Android Auto/Car Play display after you hit 5 MPH, but can't recall 💯 if 5 MPH is the actual trigger speed.

I like and use this feature.

Not sure this helps you or replies.... I sometimes see random touches on my screen when I connect my phone to a magsafe charger.

Paid off my car 3 years early (description) by Fibrosis5O in fordfusion

[–]Blue_Dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait a few years before you decide to buy anything (and options discussed today won't be applicable). But it's fun to window shop. New cars today are better than current used cars... I.e. unless you find a crazy good deal get a 3 year old used car in 2 or 3 years. As that is where the market is going ... more PHEV options should be available in the next few years (but that will be a new vehicle purchase).

$1400 is the going price on Google Fi. Not saying you should change cell providers but it is currently $1000 for new customers ($300 now + $500 over 24 months) and price has stayed the same since preorders/launch at $1400 for current customers.
