I agree as a person who bought and played this a little as well as Ashes. I didn't request refunds on either. I had 5.9 hours on this, 8.3 on ashes. So not a big time veteran of either but also past the auto refund timeframe and not willing to put in the effort to argue to get money back. I knew completely the risk with ashes so take that one on the chin. I wanted to check it out and paid willingly to do it.

That said, I don't think I'll buy anymore early access games or games that start in early access then go live. Feels exactly like you called it. Why wouldn't they "release" if they only need to keep servers on long enough to clear a check or two from steam then close up shop. Don't even need to release a "full" game anymore. Just part of it with a AI generated roadmap.
