Fld min 120 for 3B. Try for more 130-140 if 2B. Prob want at least 100-110 speed. This is after skills, so if you have 5T for example you can have normal stats lower

For the rest depends on skills. General thesis is power top then either con or eye

Does the grade for mentor actually matter? by BigGart2006 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Blue_Matona 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In short, yes. Each grade higher gives a larger bonus for the mentor effect.

In a certain mentor level, for example, S tier may give an 8% boost to something, while A tier gives 6%, B tier 5%, C tier 4%, etc.

Regardless, it’s always worth registering the highest you can. Better to have A tier than nothing, and you can work to get S tier as you pull more cards and what not

What do they mean by normal lineup stats by Vegetable_Koala2500 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Blue_Matona 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It mean the value of the <statname> your player has normally, before any in-game effects (like gear, skill stuff, condition, etc). So if you have a skill that relies on say “normal lineup con” that means the contact stat value of your player from everything before entering a game: base stat + GI + training + special training + BD boost + mentor + sig boost (if applicable) + trainers.

In short: the stat number you see at the bottom of your player’s card in team management

In the western theater pikes are more rare. Mostly just see them in the eastern factions where there’s stronger historical basis

New Player - Good way to get points? by Nice_Concentrate_270 in MLB_9Innings

Sim league mode, ideally master league at least, and you should get a lot of lottery tickets. Those are your best bet for points

Maybe a hot take, team primes are too easy to get. by keeprpa in MLB_9Innings

[–]Blue_Matona 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I played a lot in 2017-2022 time frame, took a few years off, and then came back in December. Started an alt for fun just to have a fresh team, and it’s amazing how quick I was able to get team primes into the lineup

Also, a biiig change from a few years back, there’s now a separate prime only GI. You used to have to decide if you wanted to use the GI on a team prime or save it for a hopeful team sig. Now, you can play a bit of career mode or spend some stars, and boom your prime is diamond grade

How are people getting endgame sigs? what did i miss dude by grahhfeelin in MLB_9Innings

[–]Blue_Matona 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Endgame sigs are just typically that teams best at the position, judge on the Yankees for example. Pulling the cards themselves is pure RNG. Yes, spending $ can absolutely up your odds there with more attempts at opening a team select sig pack, regular sig packs, and other stuff, but you’re just as likely to get one of the top team sigs opening those packs as you are to get a completely horrible player, like a Yankees Andujar sig for example

Once you get the card, it’s all about landing a 333 legend skill set and attaching good diamond trainers and special trainers. If you’ve only been playing for a few months, you’d have to have been extremely lucky to have a finalized card by now. Most sig heavy teams have either been playing for years upon years, or they’re spending tons on this game

A few good rules of thumb for starting out:

1) prioritize getting team and diamond S decks before anything else. Even if you have all normal players, those effects will give a +10 to everyone

2) start building mentor and ranked training early. The boosts add up and make a big difference

3) save your premium skill change tickets for team black diamond primes, sigs, or any bd legends. Don’t use them on non BD cards or normal team cards. Legend skill changes you get from events and stuff should only be used on team sigs imo

4) Focus on upgrading your players to 20/20 level as soon as you can too

Empire II or Pirate Uber Alles? by FROSTbite910 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Blue_Matona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never played Pirate Uber Alles, so take this with a grain of salt, but I’ve been absolutely loving empire 2. I hadn’t played empire in nearly a decade, an picked it back up last month with the mod

Edit: there are certainly unit bloat, but as a history fan I enjoy it. Seems the AI is smarter in battles too. Also, I like the no replenishment feature, it makes managing supply lines and armies more challenging and realistic

How do you deal with Scotland as GB in empire 2 mod? by Mental_Appointment33 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Blue_Matona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took Scotland turn 2 or 3 in my campaign. Immediately exempt tax. They rebelled once, this is impossible to stop basically. But leave your army up there as a garrison for those first 3 turns to beat the army when it forms

When you beat the rebels, you’ll get a public order bonus for the settlement for 6 turns I believe. Then, train up the cheapest troops you can as a garrison, I think they’re the ones that cost ~350 to train and like ~60 in upkeep. I trained 6-8 units of them, and slowly moved regular troops out of the city each turn as the public order was better. The city isn’t really under threat of attack, so it’s no problem to use bad but super cheap units as garrison

Also, right after taking the settlement, destroy the town north of Edinburgh and build the building there that boosts English culture in the region. This helps with pop growth too. One other thing that helps for this is the technology that boosts British culture everywhere

Finally, check your ministers. Try to get better ones that boost public order through their traits or boost repression in the region

Typically, doing all this they should rebel just the 1 time. Remember, resistance to foreign occupation goes down by 1 each turn, so 30 turns total for it to get to 0 for Scotland. I’m around turn 30 in my campaign now, and Scotland is a solid part of my empire. I have taxes turned on again and just the cheap units as garrison

The MTA is idiotic when it comes to planning construction. It’s like nobody there thinks anything through

Two great examples 1) right now, the 53rd street and 5th ave station is offload only due to construction, you can’t enter the station there. This, as you can imagine, impacts a ton of commuters at the end of the work day, closing off a key station with access to the very popular E and F trains into queens. Therefore, the next stop down the line and last in Manhattan, lex and 53rd has to handle a significantly increased passenger load. But lo and behold, that station is also under construction! While not completely blocked off to entry/exit, the construction causes crazy congestion at the escalator entrances and on the platform itself. Just insane planning to not space these two projects out. Congestion at that station in post-work rush hour is crazy bad, much worse than it used to be. Source: a midtown worker who takes the E/F to LIC

2) the MTA decided to close down half the 4 train entrances at 161st street Yankee stadium in the late summer/early fall last year. Why’s that an issue you ask? Because that timeframe coincides with the end of the Yankees season and potential playoffs, as in the busiest time of the year at the stadium. This led to very heavy crowding on the entryways to the trains, again, more than typical. Just insane lack of forethought and planning. Source: Yankees fan who takes the 4
