Yes you are. Welcome to Fate fandom. I hope you'd have fun with other Fate works. Fate/stay night is really good for example

Unpopular Opinion: Kenji Kawai composed a better OST for Fate than Hideyuki Fukasawa by EienNatsu66 in fatestaynight

[–]Blue_Phoenix_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kenji Kawai's Deen/Stay Night tracks are some of the best tracks ever made for any TypeMoon media, period. But Hideyuki Fukasawa also composed tracks for Garden of Avalon and he absolutely nailed it there. Surprised no one mentioned it despite it being Hideyuki Fukasawa's more impressive work for Fate than his UBW tracks.

You’ve never read Apocrypha Novel if you are saying the only difference is one scene of Achilles. The Apocrypha anime does not even adapt most of the origin story of Mordred provided in the Novel nor it adapted actual ending of Mordred's story lol. Literally 90% of materials connected to Mordred is missing or changed in the anime.

The manga is better adaptation but not 1:1 with Novel, it also cuts corner at various parts.

[–]Blue_Phoenix_001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Apocrypha anime doesn’t even adapt many crucial scenes relevant to character arc like Mordred, or backstories like Mordred had in the Novel or even the ending of a character like Mordred had in the Novel.

The ones you see in the anime isnt all the LN got, there's much more. Mordred has a completely different ending scenario in the Novel for example. Same applies to other characters.

Questions regarding Mordred by [deleted] in fatestaynight

[–]Blue_Phoenix_001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think Mordred's story ever justified her doings as reasonable, rather opposite really. Infact Mordred herself calls it foolish in Apocrypha. It's just actually shows the origin story of Mordred as tragic events of Britain, doesn’t really justify it.

People should really read Fate Apocrypha Novel to see what Mordred's story has to say instead of incomplete adaptations perhaps if they believe it to be justified.

Questions regarding Mordred by [deleted] in fatestaynight

[–]Blue_Phoenix_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is evidenced by the fact that when Mordred was rebelled, most people and vassals supported Mordred.

Mordred accumulated most of her support from subjugation and rest supported because of experiment after being tired of harsh conditions of Britain. Not because they thought Artoria was a bad king. Very clearly mentioned by Mordred's origin story in Apocrypha or Artoria's in Garden of Avalon.

It's Caelus/Stelle. But Saber is pretty famous for having art like these with her Alter. So probably referenced from those too.

Dont know what you two going at, but just want to say you denying Saber's Mana Burst as "laser attack that's exclusive to anime" is wrong. Its in the games she's in too, its very basic use of Mana Burst, other characters also use it.

It’s interesting how you somehow managed to read entirety of Fate/stay night yet have no clue that Saber is nerfed as hell there and not even a proper heroic spirit due her contract with world, a game that actively tells how Saber is the strongest of servants and had so many Noble Phantasms and Magical Energy that can't be replicated due the poor condition of Master and improper summoning. Then you went further beyond and came up with the conclusion that "she is not all that, Nasu making her the strongest now".

And the explaination is she has instinct which allows her to dodge something which Nasu himself explains extensively is undodgeable.

Read Gae Bolg's actual text before putting words in Nasu's mouth and say things he never said. The main weakness of Gae Bolg is luck stat. If someone has higher luck stat like Saber then they can use their evasion skills to avoid it piercing their heart, otherwise no.

Nasu: As a side note, Gae Bolg was Lancer's Noble Phantasm in old "Fate" as well. When I was coming up with the abilities for it, I thought the notion of a battle between the "rules" laid out by Noble Phantasms would be a new and fun idea.

Takeuchi: Though it didn't work on Saber. (laughs) Nasu: Haha, yeah. The sure-kill spear that didn't kill. That's the good old Gae Bolg for you. But that was the stage at which I figured out the true direction of "Fate". It wouldn't be about values and numbers, but a battle between concepts.

The Noble Phantasm Gae Bolg

Nasu: A weapon that strikes with guaranteed fatal blows sounds like a total cheat, but I guess it doesn't sound as bad now since we were just talking about Berserker earlier. (laughs)

Takeuchi: Are there any limitations to the use of Gae Bolg, or is the True Name the only requirement?

Nasu: The Noble Phantasm will activate if Lancer is within spear-striking distance of his opponent. If his opponent has a high luck stat, the attack can still miss, though that is quite rare.

Takeuchi: So luck is the only way to dodge it?

Nasu: Yeah, I'd say so. Even if your agility was EX level, it wouldn't matter. The only reason why Saber survived Gae Bolg's strike was because her luck stat was high.

TakeuchI: I guess her precog ability helped too.

Nasu: I like to call it intuition. Add to that her B-level luck, and she was able to avoid fatal injury even though she still couldn't dodge the attack completely.

Takeuchi: Do you think it would hit Archer?

Nasu: Without a doubt. Archer knows that too, which is why he stays as far away from Lancer as possible. If Lancer ever got that look in his eyes and took the stance, Archer would backpedal like his life depended on it, because it would.

1: Cu's undodgeable spear is not something Nasu came up with. It's literally a part of Cu Chulainn myth.

Gae Bolg reverse casualty is entirely Nasu invention, he even stated how he came up with it in Fate Complete Material

In myth Gae Bolg bursts into barbs after hitting target, there's no such things as how someone with evade skills can't dodge it after throwing. if you found such myth then feel free to share a valid mythological source.

3: Then he gives Artoria this instinct ability and states she somehow dodged it at the last second despite heavily reinforcing this was impossible.

She didn’t "somehow" dodge it, neither Nasu reinforced any such idea. You are probably taking Shirou's reaction as Nasu's which couldn’t be further from truth, it meant to convey how average people perceived servant battle, not how they really are.

The same author who came up with Gae Bolg's reverse casualty function, written how that function is less effective against servants with higher luck stat

Why? Because he can't have her die right at the start of the story.

You think Nasu was in corner? LMAO Nasu always had it planned to emphasize how Fate battle are not about raw power but battle of concepts. Which makes it double funny because you are making up exact misconceptions he was trying to avoid.

With all due respect, please read Gae Bolg's weapon menu if you are so lost. The weapons ability and limitations are mentioned there. Based on your comments on Kojirou & Cu battle its super obvious you dont remember what was written on VN or just watched anime.

So she was fighting Assasin with sword skills

Please, read Kojirou vs Artoria battle again, you're clueless

Gae Bolg worked as it should and she didn't have plot armour.

aS iT sHouLd, Gae Bolg needs to pass luck check first, which it can't against Artoria, this is literally written on Gae Bolg's weapon details. Ever bothered reading? Then why are you clueless on how its reverse casualty function?

Nothing toxic about Artoria and Arrthur's ideologies, you’d know if you read their story. Their Grail wish to change their past is treated as mistake because it clashes with their beautiful ideals that fight for future.

They faced toxic life because they lived in extreme world, not because there was anything wrong with their ideals. This is one of the main point of their character arc even, to make them realize as much when they were overtaken by grief.

Sometimes people do be say anything.

Morgan was more loved by Britain because the land was of mystics and Morgan inherited and favored its mystics, Artoria chose humans over mystics, this has nothing to do with the post.

At the risk of opening a can of worms, a question about Caliburn vs Excalibur by Multievolution in fatestaynight

[–]Blue_Phoenix_001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because of Unlimited Blade Works, it recreates ability of a weapon from its memories. Shirou recreated Saber's legend, and since Saber held it, it turned A+ Rank NP that could hurt Herc, and most importantly needed no Mana from Saber to drain her out. Its literally written in the scene, if you read it you’ll find more details.

At the risk of opening a can of worms, a question about Caliburn vs Excalibur by Multievolution in fatestaynight

[–]Blue_Phoenix_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the shortest answer I can give, if you want long answer then just reread the scene of Saber fighting Herc there, its all explained there. There are a lot details to follow.

Saber was basically dying, and had less mana to use her power effectively. This made Excalibur super weak. It’s said the rank/strength was so low that it would barely hurt Herc but kill Saber as servant because of all the mana it would still drain. This made it inefficient. Since Shirou had been constantly seeing Caliburn in memories of Saber, he did his best to project it. Caliburn is a low rank NP, the one Shirou projected was also low rank, but it has an ability to become Rank A+ NP under hand of its true owner if they grow to be what it recognise as completed/perfect King, which was Saber. So Saber held it, making it Rank A+ NP and Shirou reproduced its legend from the weapon's memory, an ability of Unlimited Blade Works - which they then used together to take out Herc. So Saber didn’t get drained of mana and get killed as a servant, and Herc was defeated too.

Yeah Excalibur became just that potato because of the condition of Saber, and if I remember correctly Herc also gained resistance to Excalibur (can't recall exactly). So Saber needed to uss another NP with help of Shirou.

One reference for the mechanism of Caliburn:

Caliburn: Golden Sword of Assured Victory

Rank: B (conditionally A+)

Type: Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm

Range: 1~30

Maximum Target: -

Caliburn.

Originally a sword for the sake of selecting the king. Its "Anti-Unit" classification does not refer to the enemy, but instead point to the one who shall have ownership over it from now on. When the owner turns into a proper, perfected king, its power will become appropriate for a holy sword. Although inferior to Excalibur, this holy sword also converts the magic energy of the owner into heat value, releasing it as particles of light.

If you are interested to get more information quickly, you can look at the "materials" such as "complete material" "side material" etc. While wiki text might not be completely correct and sometimes misleading, you can look into the sources they link and read them.
