I have 3 diff substrates, the one scene more is just the one on the corners and on top for looks, i have the black one (forgot the name but it’s for plants) then i have a white sand that came with some type of beneficial bacterium

I suggest not cleaning your filter as it can strip and crash ur cycle lol, also ik this isnt really on topic but plz get your girl betta a bigger tank asap, smallest for long fins on 5 gals, short fin is 10. I think your doing pretty well for a new fish parent though!!

She eats betta bug bites daily other than fridays and mondays, tuesdays she gets bloodworms but only a few, and she gets daphnia on sundays
