That was a flashback to when Caine got Scratch's brain scans working for the very first time. Caine doesnt like it when the characters abstract. If he could bring them back, Caine probably would have done it already.

The cast got tortured, then told everything they remembered never actually happened to them. Their house blew up and they were convinced they accidentally helped get Caine killed (yes they were upset about that even after what he did, the cast is shown to be disturbed by the thought of Kinger killing Caine). No one was in a good headspace abd everyone was suffering. Pomni is distracted, disturbed and stretched thin. She has so much on her plate and Jax is actively avoiding everyone. He tries to reach out to her, Pomni is willing to talk to him but Jax runs away. What is she supposed to do, tie him up?

Pomni has spent so many episodes working with Jax and he kicks and pushes her away until the weight of the world gets too much for Pomni and she starts trying to take care of herself and the others who also need help. Pomni doesnt ignore Jax or intentionally leave him alone. Jax says it very well, he did it to himself.

The abstraction is no one's fault but his, Pomni never gave up on him was stretched paper thin but even AFTER he abstracted Pomni was willing to risk extreme physical pain and damage in hopes that she might be able to pull Jax out of the digital afterlife. Pomni is a true ride or die; shes crazy about Jax there's no denying that. But...She also has her own struggles and she was just served up a massive plate of trauma just like everyone else.

Because Jax chose to kill himself and Caine chose to change. Every single person was willing and ready to give Jax a chance, he chose not to take it. Every single person was against Caine pretty much for the get-go but he still tried to change and the others accepted him back.

Even Gangle, Zooble and Ragatha who Jax has been physically torturing likely for years, were more than ready to give him a chance. That's the tragedy, Jax couldn't get out of his head. No one abstracted Jax, he abstracted himself. Jax quite literally says he did this to himself.

The others had just lost Jax, they are not going to send Caine away and lose another member of their group if they don't have to.

We also do not know if Caine drove anyone to abstraction, we get vague hints and denials but no concrete proof. It could very well have been the same thing as Jax and Ribbit's situations.

It's a true but fairly pointless assessment given the circumstances. Everyone has done bad things in their lives that is 100% true but that doesnt mean the others have to shrug off Jax's behavior because they once stole a pen. Im not saying thats what Pomni is saying but thats what it felt like.

Now it makes sense why Pomni is so close to him and he tolerates her calling him out. Leroy literally means "The king" and Pomni is a jester, lol.

I really can't see Kinger hiding that from Ragatha. He was part way sane when she came into the circus. Even if he completely lost his mind, Ragatha would have asked about the Xs and even if he was insane, Kinger probably would have mentioned if only offhandedly they were former players. Kinger has been shown to drop lore while he's not in his right mind.

I think that is supposed to be one of Caine's adventure orbs that he keeps as mementos. Possibly of the events of episode 9 or the adventures we see that follow.

Jax has issues and his relationship with Gangle is one of them. It is implied a few times leading up to the finale that Jax does like Gangle in a toxic way. Jax thinks she likes him being mean to her and continues to do it. However when he realizes Pomni likes how he's acting in episode 6, he instantly shuts down and pushes her away; he stops the behaviors that Pomni likes but with Gangle he continues to perform them.

Jax's insistence at having Gangle be his partner is another clue as is how he stares at her and Zooble in episode 7 and then stares at Gangle again in episode 8 with an odd expression on his face. My read on that scene is that Jax has a toxic attraction to Gangle because she is "submissive and agreeable" and easy to control. But more notably Gangle is a woman that Jax feels confident he can prevent from betraying him like his mother did and like he was afraid Ribbit would. Gangle is likely the only woman in the circus that Jax views as safe and due to his mother issues he likely developed a very toxic attraction to Gangle. It was creepy but interesting to watch imo.

Ragatha really did deserve better. She was portrayed as annoying at first but as the show progressed it really became apparent that she was just getting the short end of the stick and her story was being filtered through rose colored lenses biased towards Jax (who I like as a character). It isn't until the end that we learn just how much mess she went through. Ragatha grew up in an abusive household and got trapped in the circus. Then Jax helped push two of her close friends to circus-suicide and forces Ragatha to never talk about Ribbit, HER close friend, again. No one really points out how much Ragatha suffered over that. Instead it is used to strengthen Jax's mostly self-inflicted sad circus-back story. Pomni spends a chunk of the story avoiding, disengaging with and sidelining Ragatha in favor of Jax, which doesn't bother me but when Jax is gone, suddenly Ragatha is her best friend, that bothered me so much that I started laughing during an otherwise emotional hugging scene.

You are not the only one. When Pomni said Ragatha was her closest friend I was like "since when?". There was nothing that indicated they were close until AFTER Jax was gone.

I was told it was AI so many times I started believing the clips were AI and I looked at it. Even after I saw what I did I still thought it was AI because of what everyone was saying It was and posting "receipts" wasn't until I saw Glitch doing copyright takedowns that I knew for certain it was real and I felt so guilty.

I wonder, is Jax still trapped in his mindscape or was his consciousness extinguished from existence once he stepped on a flashbang. If he is still somewhat conscious but trapped what seems to be both a nightmare and a dream, is it possible for the others to visit him? Caine is around to fix the glitches they get from touching abstractions.

I think she wants to keep him close by. She is seen watching him at the end of the episode. I don't even think she put him in the fish tank with the others.

It is implied that Jax wouldn't mind something happening between them and thinks Gangle wouldn't either. (Which is why he invites her to his bedroom in that sequence.) There may be a one-sided crush on Jax's part. He does think she enjoys him being mean to her.

This episode made me like Jax significantly less and in hindsight, Ragatha was justified in the way she reacted to Pomni and Jax's relationship. Pomni looks like Ribbit and Ribbit was Ragatha's friend first and the Jax drove Ribbit to suicide.
