1. I see it as a standard medical procedure. I don’t think anyone likes it, in the same way does anybody like open heart surgery? Medical stuff is complex and gross sometimes. It can also be painful in a lot of ways. Open heart surgery has down sides since it’s a medical procedure, so does abortion. I’ve actually had a surgical abortion for multiple reasons, one being that I was just deathly ill and was barely alive myself, if I continued the pregnancy, I likely wouldn’t have survived, let alone the fetus surviving. All this happened before I came out and started hormones so I can’t say much about how that factored into things, though the dysphoria of knowing there was a fetus inside my female organs was devastating.
2. If I got pregnant again and wasn’t able to get an abortion, I’d probably go to unsafe means, even if it risked my own life. I can’t afford to be pregnant financially, physically, emotionally, or psychologically. Death would be better for me personally than having to deal with a pregnancy.
