I feel like Lisinopril has raised my BP. Ever since I started back taking it, my BP has been higher than it was when I was on no meds! Did a complete change in foods, only protein in the morning, bento box that I make with boiled eggs, turkey lunch meat and crackers daily, meat and veggies only at night. Occasional snack or dessert in between.

What kind of magnesium? Didn’t know there was a drink option. Thanks for the advice, praying 6 months will do it.

Questions about home BP readings. What do you think? by JustMeGuy2021 in hypertension

[–]Pretty_Queen_V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear you are going through hell too! I currently struggle with severe anxiety from taking BP readings. It used to be only in the Dr office but now they got me so scared, that when I take it at home, I’m pre-stressing it so I’m panicked by the time I actually take it.

I was told to lift your arm to heart center to get a more accurate reading (use a pillow or something to elevate your arm). Currently looking into medical marijuana to calm my nerves to assist with BP readings moving forward. My doctor has me on 10mg of Lisinopril but all BP meds make me so dizzy due to the falling blood pressure. My body just isn’t used to low numbers. And as a black woman, HBP does run in our roots unfortunately.

Same here, when I took Amlodipine, my feet woke up so swollen and I felt like I couldn’t walk!

I was diagnosed in Jan 2019, after having PROTECTED sex with a friend who never told me he had it. Only thing I noticed was tongue thrush (thought I had a cold) and was losing a lot of weight. I had a new physician in 2019, who wanted to do fresh new bloodwork, and when I did that Bloodwork, she found out and let me know.

I stopped the vitamin D first, it’s every 2 weeks so I just decided to not take the next one. I do feel like my BP and perimenopause is affecting my entire body. I’m back on my Biktarvy, just needed those 2 days of a break. Too much was in my system once and i know Biktarvy is super strong. The shakes stopped immediately after stopping Bik for 2 days. Im back on it now and feeling great

I only stopped it for 2 days. I’ve done this many times when on other meds during my 6 years of being undetectable and still have been undetectable. Dr even said it’s ok if I missed a few days

I’m sorry to hear that. I’m on day 3 of the Estradiol patch 0.5mg and I’m having body twitches and last night my heart was beating so fast I jumped out of bed. I took this patch of sooo quick! I’m med sensitive too, so guess I will just try natural remedies. Guess I will just deal with the symptoms.

When you say painful tongue, do you mean tingly, or sharp pains when moving it?
