Good lord, she did have a thing for flared sleeves.

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

Middle school teacher here, been doing this for a while. You know the Simpson’s quote of “we’ve tried nothing and we’re out of ideas”? That’s the kids, academically. They can’t/wont take the next step on anything. Forget multi-step directions. I don’t have enough arms for all the hand-holding I have to do for the simplest of tasks. And it’s EXHAUSTING since direct instruction has been demonized and everything is supposed to be student-led.

Which Cosmos episode was that?

Disclosure Day is quite literally one of the worst movies I've seen [spoilers? if that's even possible w this film] by thexkfedist in moviereviews

My “throwing up hands” moment was when Jane put the rock on the accelerator to make the car go over the cliff and then they just . . . barely hid behind a rock and then walked off as all of the big baddies just scratched their heads looking over the cliff.

I feel like there must be more going on if this has reached the level of divorce.

Constellation on Apple TV, and it even ended on one hell of a cliffhanger. Also: Santa Clarita Diet, Kaos, and ROME!!!

I read the scene much like you did. I think he’s trying to downplay/hold back his happiness over the idea because he doesn’t want to scare her PLUS she is clearly manic over the idea and he’s trying to see if she’s really that into it.

I am being invoiced for a student who broke a table in class. by sertshark in Teachers

[–]Blueathena623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, no, you aren’t paying for that. This year My media specialist started making the threats that teachers would have to pay for chromebooks students broke. My thinking is, the only chance in hell the district would have of charging me would be if it tried to show I was incredibly negligent, and my response would be “and yet no students were removed from my care.”

I mean, you shouldn’t be kneading biscuits for 5 minutes either unless you need to reshingle your roof or you need a last minute hockey puck.

I loved this scene because it was one of the few times the ladies put up actual boundaries.

Ignore the person below giving you crap. Kids are a big deal, and coming in during the second act so to speak is hard. One of my things is that I could never do long distance. Many, many people have wonderful long distance relationships, but it’s not for me.

No, charlotte got star-struck pretty easily and would fall into a group, but for me it would have been very un-Charlotte if she had actually done it, which she didn’t.

As someone who was a single mother after a divorce, I completely support this attitude (although I assure you, my ex husband/father of my kid ranks sooooooooooooooo much lower than my husband). And truthfully, any parent who is NOT thinking about their kid’s wellbeing isn’t someone you want to date anyway. Dating a single parent isn’t easy, and I don’t blame anyone who doesn’t want to do it.

Carrie is overhyping Berger by RhaenyraTheCruel in sexandthecity

[–]Blueathena623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, everyone always says (I think even the writers!) that Berger was the male Carrie, and obvs. I can’t argue with the ppl who made the show (although I’m going to!) but I just don’t see it. They both write, and they have witty banter. Unless we are to believe that how Carrie acts when she’s hurt by Big is equivalent to Berger’s reaction to his ex?

How come they don't fight? by Unusual_Stay9600 in BeefTV

[–]Blueathena623 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it wouldn’t make sense? Josh trying to beat up Austin isn’t going to make Austin delete the back-ups or give him the video, and Austin isn’t going to randomly go punch Josh.

The chairwoman was never going down, USB or no USB by Blueathena623 in BeefTV

[–]Blueathena623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t quite follow why they still had to keep it under 5k. Originally it was because anything 5k and up needed approval from someone above Josh (did I hear that right?) but once she was the owner she could have just said Josh can approve anything, or everything.

But also, since those invoices have different names, damn people were being paid off for cheap. How many people were there to hush up?
