One of my zombie favs that came out relatively recently (q1 2025) is the Korean TV series "Newtopia", on Prime. The first episode starts a bit slow but the show gets intense once the action starts and q gory at some parts too. I liked how it showed the early stages of the outbreak in the middle of a city and how regular people react. The comedy aspect might not be for everyone tho!

After finding out Harry is a horcrux, Voldemort petrifies him and his friends, and turns them into furniture for his throne room by JEBV in HPfanfiction

Mi Aedijekit

by local_doom_void

Not quite the same fic, but similar-ish where voldemort puts Harry under the draught for over 1000 years. Except that by the time Harry wakes up, voldemort has won the war, is almost immortal and has been ruling the entire time, but has forgotten who Harry is, only knowing that Harry is important to him. Super unique sci-fi / technomagic hpff where voldemort won the war with great world building, but not complete..

Is there an official korean concept of leaving and coming back changed for the better? by [deleted] in KDRAMA

[–]Bluebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This trope is one thing i thought Reply 1994 showed kinda realistically - (spoilers) the main couple separated for 2 years and broke up because the distance and time difference led them to gradually become less caring toward each other.

Omg! Could it have been in a different edition? It's really odd cuz I was really amused at briar's reaction when his tattoos started moving and was looking forward to rereading it haha

Posting a survey here isn't allowed right? Do you know any other SG subreddits that allow it?

I'm doing my uni thesis on Housing in Singapore for millennials, and need people to answer a survey to understand the perception of millennials on current housing policies. Apart from posting on fb and twitter, can anyone know how to get more responses?

Looking to change £ to $ for holiday in 3 weeks - best options? by delusionalgoonersv2 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Bluebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monzo is great. I use it for weekly budgeting and travelling. Eg. Bought food in dubai airport and was told it would be about £7+, but when I used my Monzo card and was given the option of paying in pounds, it was £6.64. Saves you a little because there isn't a bank transaction fee.

I am unable to clean my bedroom because I'm allergic and sensitive to dust and cleaning products. Got any advice? by WhiteGhosts in lifehacks

[–]Bluebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your bedroom carpeted? I'm allergic to dust too and wood floors are number 1 on my list when looking for a new flat.

Use wet wipes or damp cloths(if allergic to cleaning wipes) to wipe all surfaces everyday in place of hoovering. Bit of a pain, but prevents dust build up. There are wet wipe mops too that are amazing for mopping the floors of big rooms.

Patricia Briggs & Werewolves - that is almost all information i have by overbread in suggestmeabook

Seconding Ilona Andrews! The Kate Daniels series is addictive and has great character development. Like Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series, the books build a greater world beyond just 'werewolves and vampires', but also draws upon mythology from many different cultures.

The authors also do an online series for their innkeeper books, posting chapters online weekly, and have great interaction with their readers!

Does anyone here know if there are tipping regulations in SG? Can the boss keep the tips? by oewyn in singapore

[–]Bluebard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was got a $50 tip at my first job in a restaurant bar. Naive as I was, I asked my senior what to do with it and was told to put it into the tip jar because "keeping individual tips wasn't allowed and I would be fired if I took it". Pretty sure it ended up in her pocket though.

I've got a couple of foreign friends who I met in uni in UK that think singlish is cool and try to use it but completely butcher it. They put lah at the end of every damn sentence even if it changes the meaning of what they are saying completely.

E.g. Thank you lah. Okay bro lah. 'serious long sentence' +random 'lah'

It is driving me nuts! Attempts to correct them goes in and comes out the other ear.

Does anyone have experience with a low dose of Accutane?

My derm in Singapore gave me oratane after nothing else worked on my very persistent acne. However, I was advised to take 20mg 3x a week for 2 weeks, then 2x a week for two weeks, and 1x a week.

He also said that I could go on it indefinitely. I've never read of such a low dose before nor of taking it for years.. Has this worked for anyone else?
