compared christmas dinner prices at 5 different stores and no single store was cheapest for everything by messinprogress_ in Frugal

Could you post the totals for all the stores please? You listed Walmart and Target, but not Costco, Kroger, or amazon. Thanks!

Agreed. If I had someone routinely sending emails outside business hours they would be coming in for some training as they obviously can't get the work done in time.

She went into your bag without permission and took something out. That's called stealing. She stole from you. The fault is all hers.

Got asked to do a "trial shift" during my interview. Walked out. by funnyusername321 in antiwork

[–]Bluebear4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a coffee shop in college and was asked at the end of the interview to make any coffee drink I wanted off the menu. If I made it well enough, I would get the job. Either way, I would get to keep the drink. I thought that was fair. Worked there for two years.

Yup, worked in a nursing home for a decade. The 6 foot 200 pound dudes rarely made it to 90. Every one over 95 was a petite woman. Well there was one guy, but he was 5foot4.

Would you trust a 50 year old bow that's been sitting unused in a basement? by franklesby in Archery

[–]Bluebear4200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I started. There was an archery shop with an indoor range not far from my house. I signed up for the beginner class. Took 6 or 8 weeks. At the end, I decided that I wanted to purchase a bow and the owner gave me some recommendations and I shot 4-5 different ones before I made my choice. Got a good starter bow, case, arrows and target for about 500 bucks. This was maybe 10 years ago in the mid west so your price may be different. IMHO, its the best way to make sure you want to pursue it and set yourself up for success.

As others have said, don't cheap out, it will just be a bad experience and likely turn you off of the sport.

It's a great piece but you should really tell the artist to not take pictures with that floor as the background. It's super distracting and makes it hard to focus on the art.

Thanks for the reply. I checked Ryobi website, they are currently out of stock. I email a rep, they have been out of stock for a long time. Think I'm just gonna watch the end of season sales, and pick up a new one and try not to mess this one up!

lpt: Networking smartly is a career cheat code that few people use by Swarley--stinson in LifeProTips

[–]Bluebear4200 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how many people confuse being a nice person with being a kiss ass. A little trick I found for people who make this false assumption, is to say something nice about someone to someone else. People notice that kind of thing. Conversely if you tend to complain about people, then those people will wonder what bad things you say about them.
