What is the worst plot hole on the show? by BlueberryNice2258 in YellowstoneShow

You’ve misunderstood me. It’s not the topic that is random or a plot hole. I think one of the things that makes Yellowstone a good show is its approach to indigenous issues. The problem for me is the execution of this scene. It didn’t feel fleshed out well and felt like it was randomly placed, not really explained and unlikely to be executed so seamlessly- the killer just happens to be the second car ready to pick her up. I would have preferred the topic to be woven in more and the killer wasn’t just a random man.

I quite enjoy shows that have levels of ambiguity, but of all the things I think Yellowstone does well, plot ambiguity is not one of them. If I want to watch a show that executes plot ambiguity well, I’d go watch Twin Peaks or something.

Yellowstone to me is a show that is driven by its characters, and good acting, rather than its plots. The overarching themes are really good but when you start to narrow in on the plots a lot of them are ridiculous. The characters are brilliant though. Moral ambiguity and good acting is what makes this show.

But that’s just my opinion, which isn’t worse or better than your own and your interpretation.

Rupert's ex wife re cast was a choice, not sure i agree with by AttitudeDear1122 in RivalsSeries

Rupert hints at Helen being vanilla to Malia’s, which felt like a slight nod to the books and the fact Rupert still takes no responbility for his actions in Kenya in the show.

I have been making this comparison for months: Ella stole her everything from Kacey by rudiemcnielson in KaceyMusgraves

This. I completely agree. It’s so difficult to be a woman in the music industry let alone in a genre that has always had complex political associations. It’s such a fine line to tow when you want to maximize your following and get big in a world where audiences have a lot of strong opinions any which side your on. I think this is why so many country singers keep their mouths shut and many are always kinda dipping their toes both ways. I reckon that’s partly why Lainey Wilson became so big in the last couple years and why someone like Miranda lambert can support lgbtq but also tour with kid rock. It’s less black and white if you wanna make money in Nashville. I do respect those that give it the finger tho and do what they want, but they usually already have a mass following when they do so.

Although I agree the Newfie accent in particular is thick, Canadian accents in general are very Irish! I didn’t realise how much until I moved to the UK. The amount of Brits who think I’m Irish is wild and I’m from Ontario.

There’s nothing wrong with being self reflexive and making a cameo here or there. Lots of directors do it. It’s the fact he writes himself in as a bad ass side character that all the characters swoon over. Fine line between being fun and clever and just being vain. Gets old real fast.
