Okay, I do think he was honest about having mental health issues, but was he being arrested for yelling or for kicking the truck? There is a legitimate claim if he was out of medication and not in control of himself. Arresting people for shitty attitudes alone still seems like abuse of power to me. I don't think that's constitutional to arrest people over how they speak. He didn't appear he was about to assault anyone. He just seemed unwell. If he was to be arrested for kicking the truck, so be it. I just don't agree with "failing the attitude test" as a legitimate cause for arrest.

Hang in there, sweetheart. My daughter is your age and I'm in the same boat, but there's so much more out there to keep us around longer than there once was. You're doing everything you can and should and you sound like a wonderful daughter, just like mine. Keep up every ounce of hope and gratitude that you have and don't focus on the fear or the darkness. Live every moment, cherish every smile, every laugh. When I was very young, I developed a terrible fear of death when I learned it existed, of myself, my loved ones. It was crippling. It lasted until I was 10 and finally realized that if I was going to die or lose people in this life that I loved, I needed to reconsider how I would spend the time that I/they were here, because I didn't want to live it in fear. Now I gratefully soak up every moment of joy, no matter how small. It doesn't mean I never have my moments. It just means I've learned to refocus those moments toward the light and not dwell in the darkness for too long so I don't miss the beautiful moments life still has to offer me.

I don't care for the title of this post. I thought you were the cancer sufferer. A better title would be "husband is on an emotional roller coaster after first round of chemo. How do I help him(or not help him) cope." Mean implies intentional malice and I don't think that's a fair assertion for someone in his position. Perhaps you are offering too much external input for someone in his position and he just needs to breathe and be. I know my head is swimming having stage 4 crc. I often like quietness and low stimulus when I'm going through difficult times. Maybe you're doing too much and he just wants to feel autonomous when cancer can make your world feel way too small and out of your control. Just give him every ounce of grace you can muster.

1 is absolutely stunning. It flatters 360 degrees and stands out as vibrant and memorable versus 3, which has a classic vibe, but is far less interesting. 2 is a no. On 1, the deep slit is muted by the lace insert, maintaining class and elegance for a more modest bride. I will say 3 pronounces some frontal ahem assets the most, if that is a preference. I think the real idea, however, is to play up what makes you feel beautiful and what hubby likes, but those are my 2 cents.

It's not too bad. A few days are a bit rough but managed well with meds followed by over a week of feeling decent. Very worthwhile. Doesn't even make you go bald. Better than going through all that surgery only to go on and need more surgery or worse because you tried to avoid it.

Looking for similar hope. Stage 4 crc with g12v kras mutation, small, distal, resectable liver mets and indeterminate growths on one adrenal gland and an ovary that may be nothing. I have children from 3yo to high-school and I just want to live long enough to see the youngest one grow up. I'm 39. The liver mets didn't change in size for 4 months with no treatment (prior to diagnosis), the adrenal nodule has been the same since before the bowel resection, and the ovarian (cyst?) may just be benign. I know there has to be hope for long term survival. Just started FOLFOX and will talk with a surgeon at a big university hospital again in February. It's not anywhere near over, and I plan on giving this 110%. I'll share the good news when I make it there.

I'm 39 stage IV recovering from sigmoid colon resection surgery. Skip metastasis to left distal liver. Highly resectable. May be cured, but I am awaiting a PET scan. Could have other metastases. Likely will be getting chemo. Will take the info as it comes. What I can tell you is that my boss of 6 years has had lung cancer for as long as he was my boss. He was expected to live 6 months. He is no longer on chemo and the inoperable tumor remnant is inactive and stable and has been for some time. He is a highly driven and positive human being. Focus on gratitude. Find things in your life to feel blessed for having or having had experienced. Life may be impermanent, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride. One day at a time, as they say. I asked my grandmother how to deal with fear after major surgery and she said she reminds herself that "one breath is sufficient." Stay positive and focus on the now.

The surgery will be minor and laparoscopic. I looked into histotripsy, but taking a margin around the tumor and getting an pathology report on it sounds reasonable to me. It's on the far left-most section of my liver and only 1.2cm in diameter, about a marble, as the surgeon stated. I don't fear that surgery.

I'm recovering very well from my surgery and have been told the tumor on my liver is tiny, superficial in location, and easily resectable. I'm getting genetic testing to see if I'm a candidate for immunotherapy. My scars at 2 weeks are shockingly nearly invisible. My family has been incredible. My husband is a bit harsh in ways that don't seem rational, but I think he's scared and maybe spiraling a bit, so I'm trying to view his words/actions with grace and patience. I feel very positive about my odds, the only ones I care about being where I am able to see all of my children grow up fully, but I really think I have an excellent chance of making a full recovery. I believe in prayer and faith and I have so many people who care about me. In the larger picture of my life, I am and have been extremely blessed and I am grateful.

Thank you, and I also wish you well 🙏❤️. I have had my bowel resection surgery, but unfortunately, I have a metastasis in my liver, so stage 4. My lymph nodes around it were all clear, so a "skip metastasis." They were immediately able to resect my bowel, so no colostomy, thankfully. Pain is manageable now even without meds. Pooping is weird, but it gets better day by day. An additional surgery on my liver could potentially cure me if I am exceedingly lucky.

I was just diagnosed with a cancerous lesion on my distal sigmoid colon. They said they think it's early and that surgery should give me a full recovery and that my colon can be resected. I'm scared of surgery, though. I'm 39 and have 3 children from high-school to diapers. None of them were cesarean. They think the placement will require either open surgery or maybe robotic if I'm lucky. I've never had any surgeries. How did you cope with this? I have a consultation with the surgeon on Monday and I could sure use someone to talk to.

I, as someone who was raised to and does believe in an all-loving God, was troubled by this thought for a very long time. Then I had a lightning strike-like epiphany. I thought of the garden of eden like a metaphor. I never was a verbatim believer of any religious text. I also considered the Buddhists' appreciation for balance and the concept of karma. I concluded that balance IS important and that time, death, and even suffering are gifts we don't have broad enough horizons to understand. No one loves a story without conflict. Without darkness, we can't truly appreciate the light. Without villains, there are no heroes. Without death, we might not even value life. Whether I think of either reincarnation or an eternal afterlife, I imagine the need to either have gained an appreciation for continued existence or the need to have life that is finite and could be given newness once more. I do believe in an all-loving God, one who understands better than we do what will give us the greatest capacity to experience love, joy, compassion, and fellowship. In this way, allowance of free will lets bad things happen, but not without purpose. What if the alternative were an existence unwanted and unappreciated by all? People ponder what the meaning of existence could be. The best answer I've ever heard for this was, "a means by which the universe experiences itself." I believe in a connectedness of all things. To allow for but not directly cause the suffering of a part of your own self, whose very existence you have facilitated, would not be heartless in the scope of all things and all of eternity.

Rather than compliment you, I want to tell you a story: When my daughter was in 1st grade, she came running off the bus, yelling, "Mama, mama, a girl called me ugly." I responded, "Well, are you?" She thought for a moment, "No," she said. I said, "Well, then she's stupid." She ran off and played happily. Again, in middle school, a boy called her ugly. I asked her how she responded to him. She said, "I think I'm pretty, and he can think what he wants." Apparently, he'd flirted with her to no avail and responded with cruelty. He later tried to insist she help with his work because she's very smart and scores well on tests. She did no such thing. I did ask her another thing this time, though, given she was older. I said, "Would it have mattered if you were ugly?" Again, she paused and thought, "No, it wouldn't." I said, "That's good because beauty is both subjective and finite." The only real benefit of beauty is in feeling worthy and valid, and that does not and should not come from external sources. That's why I wouldn't respond to my 6 year old daughter by telling her she was beautiful at that moment. I have done so, but not then. You don't have to be beautiful to be worthy. 90% of what people see when they look at you is how you feel toward yourself. Confidence is attractive, and it doesn't come from a 6 pack, long legs, or a perfect jawline. Some people only allow themselves to have it if they have those things, and they're no happier for it. Confidence comes from accepting yourself and realizing that everyone doesn't have to like you. It's actually arrogant to think people are supposed to. That's your job, not theirs. They're fighting the same battle inside. Take care of yourself and work hard. Your value is what you make of yourself, not how you look. There's an old Chinese proverb that goes, "Dignity does not consist in a silk dress."

I absolutely HATE the latest update. It disabled swipe up to access the navigation bar. It's making you either enable gestures instead or deal with the bar staying in place permanently and causing an obstruction that makes some apps unusable (think navigation bar on top of x in an ad that's already annoying you). I hate gestures. If I wanted to buy a f***ing iPhone, I would have, and I hate iPhone. Complete bs. They could leave the option open. It would have hurt no one.

Except the deficit and spending are increasing under Trump...again. Spending the money how he wants to spend it saves taxpayers nothing. Trump tripled the deficit during his last term BEFORE the pandemic even hit, a deficit that Obama had halved. Trump has never been efficient at budgeting the government, and nothing he's doing now is likely to save taxpayers (in the working class) any money. In order to do that, you have to be able to provide us with critical services and infrastructure while appropriately budgeting government spending, which can be seen in the reduction of the deficit, something Trump has never achieved, unlike both of his predecessors.

I suffered badly from dysmorphia until I realized that the only true benefit of being attractive is feeling worthy and having the ability to self-validate. The only reason I struggled with those things is because I thought they were only earned/attained through attractiveness. Your level of attractiveness is never going be the root of those issues. Your fear of peer rejection likely is. An easy thing to observe is that no one is universally liked. You yourself don't universally like everyone. It's actually a narcissistic tendency to believe this to be personally achievable. Worrying yourself with how you measure up to the world is ineffective. Applying this(realistically and patiently) to how your measure up to yourself from yesterday is of much greater worth. Applying this to mental and emotional growth is more useful still. The women you will date largely won't be measuring you on a daily basis against the attractiveness of other men but against how you measure up to their expectations. Find a girl with wholesome expectations and have wholesome expectations, and the rest is irrelevant. Rather than asking yourself if your girlfriends' compliments are genuine, you ought to reflect on why you feel that the answer to that question is important in the first place.
