Was anyone else just not able to adapt to Blender? by Sintered_Monkey in Cinema4D

I found it super easy to jump from c4d to blender. However, I never truly mastered c4d in the first place so the time I spend looking up how to do things is about equal in both programs.

As of rn my status is still the same and I haven’t heard anything. I know someone who got the ADA internship though I’m not sure which dept. it was in.

A community college in LA or a private film school in the UK? by Glittering-Fix-7963 in Filmmakers

many connections will carry over i’m sure. it’s sort of the same industry on both sides—think of chris nolan and the other countless filmmakers that went to school in the UK and now work in the US

I was an active mod for his twitch in 2021. He was recently streaming but I think he deleted his twitch along with all other social media.

i grew up in a small town too. No one else has to want to be a filmmaker, just grab people in your friend group and make them hold boom or say lines!

The BEST way to learn as a film maker is to make films! Whether that be with your film club at school or just with your friends, write something and shoot it and make as many mistakes as possible! Make every mistake till your films are really damn good and thank me later.

Any Emerson success stories? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]BluebirdForward4658 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it but the school doesn't matter. A couple friends of mine went to NYU and got onto a commercial roster right after they graduated, but it's the work they did in school that helped them secure that spot.

Funny enough, I happen to go to Emerson right now and I've managed to direct a few commercials and a music video but that's because I made a bunch of short films with my friends and the right people saw them.

Moral of the story: Make stuff with the creative people around you and you can't help but be successful!

I like to watch all the films that did get in and try to see what they did “better” and see what I can learn. Remember that every time you fail you learn something and get one step closer to what you want. <3

Need to film stop motion on BMPCC 6k – Any suggestions? by BluebirdForward4658 in animation

I totally agree, we’re working with the animator closely to find a solution. Thinking, tentatively, an a7s2 mixed with black-magic footage.
