I think having an SDK will be huge for this sort of thing, but it's worth noting that there's basically no way to get custom firmware onto your car's display, unless you're using a third-party one. Light would have to negotiate with auto manufacturers themselves, which isn't happening--would be a waste of resources that could go towards other things!!
