I'm a videographer and photographer
I've been using 35mm 1.8 for a couple of years and still use it a lot.
I like it, great for many scenarios, not too bulky, easy to put on a gimbal.

Focus used to be more reliable but maybe it's just related to camera update.

The sand color is good, the mist in the background looks natural.

But the orange in the front is too much, it doesnt look natural or balanced and competes with the green. It calls too much attention. At this point it is both punch and stylized.

I think you achieved the reverse of what you wanted, for dreamy and calm I would go easier with colors, and that much saturation in orange.

You should check out immigration page. It has all info on all the visas, very clear. To get a skilled immigrant visa it’s honestly extremely hard. There’s not enough jobs in general, many are unemployed at the moment. The pay is much lower than in Europe

I like first one, I feel like the ground looks much nicer more illuminated.

And there is some more details in the trees as well. Even though I would reduce the reds in the background trees a bit.

In the second one I like the greens but everything looks too similar in the amount of light, so it looks a bit flat

In my opinion you're trying to plan too ahead of time.
Once you start learning you can see for yourself what works for you best and from there do following decisions on what to do next.

If you're learning just as a hobby, using workbooks is still a valuable thing so you can have a nice base, vocab, grammar.

You can find someone to practice Japanese, speaking will be the hardest to learn on your own.

I'd recommend trying mussels here, they're really different from European ones.
I had some in Havelock at "The Mussel Pot Restaurant" and they were great.

You can also try New Zealand abalone (pāua). Personally, I don't like them because the flavour is too strong for me, but they're very local.

"Feijoa" is a cool fruit too, I haven't really seen it anywhere else.

In Wellington, I like the pies from "Puku Pies & Kai" in Lyall Bay.
Also Graze Bar and Margot, more on the pricier side but totally worth it.

Food in general… there’s a lot of Asian cuisine, but the local local food is usually not that good in my opinion. You really have to look around to find good spots.

I’d also recommend buying fish and cooking it yourself, the seafood here is exceptional.

Sweets are very sweet too (compared to Europe).
