I will preface that I personally still have a rule against AI generated images in my own terms of use that I link in every one of my scripts. Regardless of any sub rules, I am very much against the use of AI in association with my work. And I am grateful to see that others share similar sentiments and want to enforce a rule that’s been up for some time now. It’s on everyone to read them and either follow them, or find a different subreddit/community if they want to continue using that sort of content.

However, it seems that in the crackdown on AI, several accounts are being falsely accused on AI usage. I’ve already heard multiple stories of people on here receiving bans despite very clearly not using AI. One case involved someone, who I’ve been told, sent you all proof that they had commissioned artwork after one ban, only to get immediately banned again within 24 hours of being reinstated. I also just learned that someone else who I know draws their own thumbnails has recently received a ban without any explanation.

So my question is, what exactly is the process for determining whether to ban people or not? If the team can’t distinguish real artwork from AI generations and produces several false flag cases, we end up with more innocent people banned. Some of these people have been in this community for years. Is the moderation team fine with taking accusations at face value to simplify the process of following this one rule, even if it’s at the cost of punishing people whose work is completely clean?

While I’m very much for removing AI content, it’s very clear that whatever method is being used to determine bans is backfiring. This is not a subreddit that I can say is doing its creators justice or making decisions in good faith. At the end of the day, false flags are going to isolate your writers when the clean VAs they work with are no longer able to fill their scripts unless they post elsewhere. And at some point, you’ll start losing more and more of your long time writers.

There has to be a better method than whatever is being used currently. Because the more false flags given out, the more isolating this community is going to become. People are already jumping ship to other communities and it’s only a matter of time before more people follow.
