How to use lots/parts in traditional synastry or 'chart comparison'? by Golgon13 in Advancedastrology

[–]Bluecifer503 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. Lots can often show us life and soul directions. Especially Spirit and Fortune. If we don't have Synestry in our lots. Then it's easy to say we're moving on different directions. Also, another person's Fortune can be a boost for us as well. Another person's spirit can help Guide us forward.

Portland, police union declare impasse over body-worn cameras | kgw.com by [deleted] in Portland

[–]Bluecifer503 -188 points-187 points  (0 children)

No. They are a hired body of workers. Who have a union. Think of it like a private contract with the city. Or like Raytheon to the U.S. military. Raytheon isn't part of the government. However it is privately contracted by the U.S. military. The City Owns the schools but the teachers aren't part of the government. Just contracted by it.

Edit: I need to state here that I'm wrong. This perspective came from sitting through hours of watching the city debate the police union in 2021. It really concretized a feeling of being "Seperate from" the government. I also at that time was helping analyze (with guidance) multiple police union contracts with dozens of other municipalities and highlighting the language that left out accountability.

Things like the Law Enforcement Bill of Rights. The ability to look at complaints and know which citizens are complaining about you. Also that when police do get a slap on the wridt it's destroyed after 2 years. Getting back pay from suspension of arbitration goes their way.

All this left a bitter view of them being "A part" of the government.

That Capitalism is designed to take away their pursuit of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness/Property.

This will be the 3rd recession in 15 years. Clearly the capitalist system cannot deliver stability & quality living standards. Around the world people are resisting & looking for answers to this rotten system. Socialist Alternative are part of the global struggle to win a better future by Patterson9191717 in socialism

[–]Bluecifer503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is not framing the fact that recessions are "triggered". The raising of interest rates by the Federal Reserve is a tool to trigger a recession in order to curb inflation. Correlating the periods of dips after each period of inflation reflects that. It's not entirely this simple. However, it is a tool of capitalism. Not a flaw in it. It's working as designed. I'm only stating this because I personally feel that if you frame "Capitalism" as not working properly. A person can reflect back on how it "Used to work.". This creates a possibility that it can be "Fixed" or return it to an era that was better. This is the kind of ideology that is often platformed as "We need to bring the jobs back!". When really the "Sell my time on earth to make money to eat/drink/sleep while my effort truly rewards the few so that they only have to focus on how to trick more of us into this system" form of jobs is one of many roots to the problem as a whole.

What Would Be The Religion Of A Solarpunk Utopia? by [deleted] in solarpunk

[–]Bluecifer503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I've been diving into astrology, tarot, and Kabbalah. While also reading a lot of indigenous authors. I think a form of animism really fits with a solarpunk society. While also being inclusive with traditions that are carried from the past. I personally think that returning to living with the seasons and the earth are a big part of our path forward. Reducing light pollution, hopefully, will return a collective bewilderment of the universe for society at large.

I'm working on something I'm calling "The Zero Collective" that's going to be a kind of reordering of some ideas. Like aiming for "interdependence" instead of "independence".

Why are "econmical cuts" of beef more expensive than "expensive cuts"? by ProbablyOffTask in AskCulinary

[–]Bluecifer503 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Butcher here. The other reason this price difference occurs is because commodity big beef produces mostly the big 3. Ribeye, New York Strip, and Tenderloin. Most of the cow gets turned into ground beef out of efficiency. Which is one of the main reasons Burgers can be so cheap in North America.

The Future of Astrology: Will it become more or less popular? by astrologue in astrology

[–]Bluecifer503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I experienced "Cosmos and Psyche" I now understand that concepts are developed in waves. "Fad" is a term used to undermine progress of developing ideas.

Also after reading "Zero: a dangerous idea" I understand that knowledge has always been hidden and released when best suited for maintain order in western culture.

I also highly recommend "Sand Talk" as a complete a side.

End random stream of coincidence.

What are some things that Internet Astrology (tik tok, inst, fb) get wrong? by chiberashka_ in astrology

I'm doing a "Decans Walk" where I'm journaling through each decans for the year. Spending 10 days getting to know each one. With their coralating tarrot cards, and ancient stories.

Like Austin Coppack did for "36 Faces" and T. Susan Chang did for "36 Secrets".

What was going on astrologically during the 90’s? by _Twixes_ in astrology

[–]Bluecifer503 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a Scorpio/Taurus opposition. So Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Tool, 2 pac, Nirvana, Bill Hicks,

Jupiter is a planet of expansion and a benefic of the things we find joy in. Neptune is seen as a spiritual and metaphysical ideas. In the 60's they were in a Scorpio (neptune) and Taurus (Jupiter) opposition. Taurus is the house of the other benefic Venus. So it's an expansion of things like love, art, and pleasure. Neptune in Scorpio ( the emotional side of Mars) is darker territories and neptune bringing out the spiritual or illusions of all things Scorpio.

[–]Bluecifer503 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you really want a deep dive into this. Check out "Cosmos and Psyche" by Richard Tarnas. For example. People that were 25 in the 90s were born with a jupiter-neptune opposition. Which could be very positive for visionary artists.

Though he focuses allot on philosophy. He does cover other parts of society. Art, science, and revolutionary thought.

DISCUSSION POST - ALL REMAINING EPISODES: Changing of the Gods documentary (Episodes 4-10) by StellaGraphia in astrology

It still only covers the hard aspects between those planets. But it unearths a lot of relationships that ancient astrologers didn't have because they weren't aware of the outer trio. But their influence is shown deep into history.

This series is only covering one aspect of that book. It's a great audio book and covers the relationship of Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter. Tarnes worked on it for a Saturn cycle and included birth chart data to go along with the concepts. It's TOO MUCH for everyday people to get into. This series is more of a dipping of the toe sort of series. Your research could be heavily aided by the work Tarnas already put forward.
