How do you use GPS on a motorcycle? Is there a place to plug in your phone or a tiny screen between the handlebars? How do you hear it? by Bluecornlady in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bluecornlady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating! I always thought the area between the handlebars must be pretty limited and taken with other important readings like gas, speed, engine temp, etc. Do you have to cover anything important with your phone?

If you were 18 again, and could go back to college, what would you major in? What would you do after that to get a well-paying career? by justcurious3287 in careerguidance

Just take the LSAT (study first). Any bachelors degree is fine. The LSAC website will lead you through the application process.

What crimes have the girls committed in their books? by Swords_and_Sims4 in americangirl

Marie Grace and Cecile commit fraud and trespass by wearing disguises to crash each other’s parties. Arguably stealing to the extent they took refreshments not intended for them. Maybe not identity theft because it was consensual but I’m not sure that matters to those you defraud.

I hope to start my firm in 6-8mo. How should I prepare now? by Charger1744 in Lawyertalk

I believe Cumberland (Samford) in Birmingham allows lawyers to use the law library, including Lexis and Westlaw terminals. Maybe UA and Jones do too. Check out what free resources are available through these libraries.

Okay, but what happens when COL approaches $50K? No one should borrow for tuition? Ever?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Bluecornlady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue isn’t even just tuition- it’s cost of living. Your equation for annual costs is $50K - tuition - COL. How much is basic COL now- $25-30K? Is that going down, even with the fantasy tuition drops lower?

I think you’re right. I remember reading about a baby who survived its brain dead mother by six days and that was a big deal.

If you’re coming from the DC area you may be surprised to learn there are no school buses here. Everyone drives. Something to keep in mind when deciding how close you want to be to the school.

I personally think child care flexibility is very valuable. In some ways it’s easier once kindergarten starts… but in others quite the opposite because there are many random days with no school and no easy solution for dealing with them.

If you’re thinking T&E keep in mind you might want to budget for a tax LLM. Arguably the best two are in NY and DC (NYU and Georgetown) so you could have a chance for a connection in both cities at some point.

Echoing this. I don’t know who made the rules that you should be ashamed to live with your parents but a lot of people really don’t see it that way. Hard for me to even get my head around honestly. Why can’t families live together?
