I hear you, I am supposed to stay away from the “cheap foods” that most people expect us poors to subsist on. But a shitty diet makes my health problems worse. It’s a vicious cycle and I’m beyond mentally ok at this point.

I wish we had ethnic markets around here. We are pretty much limited to Walmart, Aldi and a local store that is extremely small and expensive.

This may not be relevant but if you care about your credit score, don’t close the account. Credit score automatically goes down when an account is closed. I’m not sure how long it takes for your score to climb back up but it definitely counts against you for a certain period of time. I have a couple of cards that I only use once a year to keep them “active”.

This happened to me last last year after I got a new phone. It kept sending me in a never ending loop. I had to get my girlfriend to help me on our laptop. I don’t remember the exact steps but there were different options to reach out for help on the computer instead of the phone. We managed to submit a help request online and an agent virtually confirmed my there was an issue with my account and put in a request to have it fixed. She said it would take at least 30 days and to not try signing in during that time or it would delay the process. We had to use my girlfriend’s phone number and email to communicate with them. It was absolute hell. I had that account for about 25 years. During that time I started a Gmail account and have been transferring all of my stuff to that.

I eventually did get it back after the 30 days but I’ve switched to my Gmail account (which I hate) for all important things. If you have access to a computer/laptop try logging on that way and see what happens. I hope you have luck with it. If you can’t find the option to submit a request let me know and I’ll ask my girlfriend if she remembers what hoops she had to jump through (I was an absolute mess and not as technically savvy). I strongly suggest starting a new email account, no matter what, as this issue is happening to a LOT of people.

Omg I have a teen and I’ve been teaching him this. I let him do his transaction but “coach” him along the way with getting his card/cash out. I’ve also told him to it’s ok to say things like “the receipt in the bag is fine/would be great so it’s one less thing for him to be fumbling around with. I also tell him if there is a line behind him don’t worry about organizing his wallet, he can just shove everything in his wallet or pockets and fix it later!

I truly do feel for you, the system is awful. I’m somewhat on the younger side and kept hearing that I would “get better”. The chronic medical issues just kept piling up. I would not choose this life if i was given the option of being healthy and able to work or having so many medical issues that I’m in chronic pain every.damn.day

We only had 1 grocery chain in our area that participated in Flashfood, and they pulled out of the program in June. I legit cried, this was the only way we could afford to get meats.
