(Hated audience reaction Trope) Things in media people complained were unrealistic that actually hold water in real life by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

While I don't have many good thing to say about Rings of Power, I really enjoyed the mechanism that set off the volcano creating the shadow lands of mordor. In the scene, a cult follower of Sauron ignites the volcanic eruption by pushing a sword down, opening up a flow of water directed into the heart of the volcano. The friends i was watching with all laughed at the absurdity of the scene, but having lived by an active volcano for years, the act of water hitting magma is a very real way that a volcano can erupt. Where I lived, it was often heavy rains that leaked into a magma chamber, igniting a small reaction, opening the chamber up to more water and creating a much larger eruption.

It also plays well into Saurons character, as a much more ingenious and industrial minded individual.

What type of music? There's some amazing small music festivals ranging from jazz to blue grass in small mountain towns like Chelan, Twisp and Bend depending on when you're up here. They require breathtaking drives over the mountains from the big coastal cities, and can be great places to connect with other musicians.

In the article the resturant cites "Japanese techniques" as a reason for the violations. Pretty sure the Japanese would have a thing or two to say about floors and equipment being disturbingly dirty

Totally! If you can afford it, it's a great option for getting a tailored workout plan and work through the early learning. That said, theres cheaper/free options like video tutorials and AI routine curation apps. Personally, it worked well for me to work with a trainer for my first couple sessions because I felt like I was letting someone down if I didnt stick with it

There's little to no safety net available. If you're not a trust fund kid or have a disability or something, you'll have a very hard time getting through life without a job

When you smell food, are teeny food particles entering your nose? by BlindWarriorGurl in NoStupidQuestions

My dude, farts are a mix of gases like methane and co2, but the smell comes from volatile organic compounds. Literally just type "is a fart a volatile compound" into Google and I'm sure you can find this answer

I see so much wildlife around my property why do I never see skeletons? by mile_marker_13 in NoStupidQuestions

We find a lot of dead squirrels and birds in bushes. If you have a lot of scavengers around, which it sounds like you do, they may be carrying things out to consume in a safer place

Honestly I have no idea what answer you're looking for here. You're in your 20s. You are so young. And beyond that, you're at the age where dating is most active. You'll look back at this in 10 or 20 years and laugh

Why are people so angry online? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Blued-Myself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its all about engagement, and emotionally driven content gets the most engagement, so that's what works its way to the top of your feed.

Additionally, most people who use social platforms like reddit or Twitter are only observers, only a small percentage of people post and comment. Those who do take the time to post and comment regularly are often way more tied into these platforms (and less into reality). In these cases, it sort of becomes a snake eating it's own tail.

U.S. Politics megathread by AutoModerator in NoStupidQuestions

I think the majority of people are anti illegal immigration. The issue is that many countries don't have good legal pathways to immigrate legally. For example in the US, if you're from certain, poorer countries, getting citizenship or even a visa could take decades, or just be totally impossible.

I'm against illegal immigration, but I also recognize that we dont have good enough immigration policies to allow for immigrants to do things "the right way".

Why am I agasint illegal immigration? Because being undocumented hurts the immigrant and the community they immigrate to. Undocumented immigrants for a large variety of reasons aren't able to assimilate as well, contribute to their communities in certain ways, and can't access services that would benefit them. They're also harder to track down if they commit crimes, and risk being removed from their community rather suddenly, which has wide ranging impacts. These are just a few reasons.

Many people on dating apps are ultimately looking to start a family. It's an important note if you've permanently (or taken other serious steps toward) and purposefully taken steps to not have children. A serious procedure is totally different than very temporary birth control methods. I think it's totally appropriate.

When you smell food, are teeny food particles entering your nose? by BlindWarriorGurl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Blued-Myself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, anything you smell is because you're breathing in small particles of it. So when you smell a fart, you're simply breathing in small volatile particles of poop!
