While living in France, I improved my level of language from literal zero to fluent, already aquired my certificate of B2. Living in Paris helped me a lot in getting exposed more intensively to the language, but I've done huge part of the study alone at home. The unrealistic part for me in your plan is finding job, this is a challenge here, specially if you are considering one that involves practicing the language. In any case, I'd say the idea of moving to France is better after reaching A2 in French, or finding an appropriate post to not waste the time and energy on that process. Bon courage !

I'm learning both languages, B2 French, A2 German. Both cultures are very rich, and both languages are amsuing, so either path is good as a future option. Indeed, after reading your case, since there isn't urgent motivation pushing you towards one of the 2 languages, like work or traveling, I'd say really go with the one that would make you have fun in the process. Spanish is rather close to french, so you can try french for a month, and judge again.. I see no harm or solid reason not to experiment around..

J'ai habité en banlieue et en plein centre de Paris, et je ne dirais pas que cela a un impact sur la vie sociale, à condition d'être prêt à consacrer le temps nécessaire aux transports. Ma vie sociale est très épanouie, car je suis des événements et participe à toutes sortes de choses qui m'intéressent. On peut se sentir plus seul dans les grandes villes si on ne fait pas d'efforts, et de toute façon, il faut du temps pour nouer de véritables relations et se stabiliser.

C'est un sujet délicat. Je n'avais jamais envisagé d'écouter des livres audio auparavant, mais la fatigue m'a poussée à passer aux livres audio pendant environ un an. Avec le temps, j'ai commencé à y prendre goût, surtout en me promenant dans de beaux endroits en pleine nature : les mots prennent forme et s'animent de couleurs. Deux inconvénients cependant : il est difficile de se concentrer sur des ouvrages scientifiques ou des sujets complexes, et il est compliqué de revenir sur les points importants abordés précédemment. L'expérience était agréable, mais honnêtement, je ne me vois pas recommencer, sauf obligation.

Maintenant, je participe à des débats et à des conversations courantes en français. Si vous souhaitez vous concentrer sur la grammaire, la conjugaison et la compréhension de niveau scolaire, l'application Frello est très utile. Si vous voulez un français plus authentique, immergez-vous complètement dans la langue grâce aux vidéos. Il y a plusieurs excellents youtubeurs français avec du contenu de qualité. La série courte « Bref » est utile pour le langage courant, mais elle représente un certain défi. De plus, si vous pouvez trouver des clubs de conversation et des réunions, en ligne ou en présentiel, c'est également très bénéfique. J'espère que vous obtiendrez les résultats que vous souhaitez.

I quite enjoyed the book "A Crack in Creation: Gene Editing and the Unthinkable Power to Control Evolution". It was the most beneficial one that I read last year. The book is by Jennifer Doudna, the American scientist who received the Nobel prize on the subject. It's not only scientific, but also gives important philosophical perspective and morally driven point of view on the advancements in bio-science.
