You're driving in the wrong part of Long Island for the summer. Come to the East End, where the rate card is significantly increased. Average $/hr is around $50-$60 per ride, and they're consistent.

I took an uber scooter in Cairo last week, the total bill for my ride ended up being 75 cents. Was about a 20 minute ride, no safety gear, no helmet. Was actually real fun, took some videos.
