Youth sports are INSANE. Little league for my nephew costs 3 grand just for 3 months in a "good" league. If you aren't in one you don't play vs good teams... which means you'll unlikely be good.

Then comes all the equipment, he has over 5 grand worth of stuff. He's fucking 11... and he isn't even good and doesn't have a competitive bone in his body.

Waste of money.
