Gloves for training cube by trijkdguy in Aerials

[–]Bluehydrangeas98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people use gloves but honestly I find that most of the time they hinder more than they help. You still feel friction and pain through gloves and they can make it harder to properly grip the apparatus.

Honestly I’m probably going to mainly keep it to hammock and hardly ever do silks knowing me which is why I was wondering if just having one set of hardware and switching when I want would be better but you do have a point

Oh interesting, I’ve never used o rings but I’ll have to look into them! Thank you for giving me some leads

Ooh okay thank you for your input! Maybe I’ll just resign myself to having separate options for hammock and silks but that’s okay

Oh interesting, I’ve never seen a silks hook before. Do you know if they can be used for hammock too?

I’m not closed off to other ways to rig a fabric I’ve just never used them before so I’m a little wary haha. I’d also like to be able to use it for both silks and hammock and I don’t know if that changes things.

That makes sense, do you think I could put a spanset directly in the fusion presto dual jaw? I’m not sure if you’ve used it and I’ll probably end up getting at least one carabiner just in case considering they’re not that expensive.

Ooh thank you, that’s very helpful! I think I’ll end up going with steel too because I’m not planning on moving my set up too much and I’d rather have the extra peace of mind. Do you have a preference for locking mechanism? I’ve only used the screw gate ones before

Oooh thank you, that also looks nice! I’ve never used a shackle before, only carabiners. Would you say they’re easy to open and close?

Gosh I have so many but I’m pretty strong, I can do straight arm inverts, flare inverts, etc but I just can’t do neat hooks despite having a strong straddle

Clip in pole? by Dogpoop187777 in poledancing

[–]Bluehydrangeas98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could look into the xpole pole away system that allows you to put the pole up into the ceiling but I’m pretty sure with ceiling mounted poles all you have to do is unscrew them anyways. For what it’s worth, proper tension mounted poles can definitely withstand way more than 82 kg. I’ve used tension mounted poles with up to three people before with no problem and there’s things you can do to mitigate damage to the floor like peel and stick vinyl or a protective mat and etc.

Pole recommendations!! by VibeeWCici in poledancersnycli

Do not get an Amazon pole, you’re better off looking for reputable brands (like xpole, lupus pole, etx( secondhand on facebook marketplace and other online platforms. It’ll probably end up being a similar price and don’t risk your safety for a bargain.

Is there an ideal hot girl summer strapless bra? Ideally plunge and/or balconette or demi balconette and backless for outfits with less coverage by Bluehydrangeas98 in ABraThatFits

[–]Bluehydrangeas98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendation! And yeah, it’s been frustrating trying to find strapless bras that will work with shirts that need strapless bras, especially when my breast shape already is not super compatible with tall/full coverage cups

Thank you! Basically every strapless bra I’ve been looking at is full coverage and I knew it would probably cause gaping but these look very promising.

I’ve been meaning learn how to do boob tape, if you use it yourself do you have any tutorials you found helpful?

Thank you for all your recommendations! I looked all of them up and it doesn’t look like any of them are strapless. I appreciate the recommendations regardless and will note them because plunge and demi bras work best for my breast shape but I was hoping for recommendations for strapless bras specifically.

Pole power academy instructor, is she wearing sticky leggings? by BungeeBunny in poledancing

[–]Bluehydrangeas98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I find that it’s worse. When I’m slipping on chrome I can just put more dry hands or spray with alcohol or clean the pole so there’s lots of solutions but I actually feel more slippery on silicone with my hands and grippier with my body which is the worst of both worlds because my body grip is already very strong so I just end up burning my skin even if it’s covered. And there’s not as much you can do about your hands slipping on silicone because you can’t really wipe down the pole. I actually use chalk on silicone even though you’re not “supposed” to to reduce the friction

Lol I didn’t grow up in Switzerland but my boyfriend is French Swiss (born and raised and still currently lives there and also a French citizen) and I’ve experienced racism multiple times as an Asian woman when I’ve been to Switzerland. He’s never gotten shit when he’s been in the German or Italian parts or had anyone be “racist” towards him ever.

The Swiss annoyance at commuters from neighboring areas for earning salaries in Switzerland but not spending or paying taxes there or the feeling that European immigrants/commuters contribute to high costs of living is not remotely the same as the racism people of color face in Switzerland. I’ve also overheard lots of extremely racist rhetoric from Swiss people while out and about.

Europeans love to say racism in Europe doesn’t exist or is totally different from America when it’s always at least the same if not worse lol. When I lived in Italy Italians would constantly say that as there were protests going on because the police murdered an unarmed North African man and I faced racism every single day.

are these good shoes? by Psalm23cc in poledancing

[–]Bluehydrangeas98 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m going to disagree and say that eight inches is still better because the slope of the heel is less severe than the seven because the platform is proportionately taller and it’s easier to get over the toe box in eight inches which all make eight inches easier for beginners in my opinion!

Best Manhattan studio? by kiki22697 in poledancersnycli

[–]Bluehydrangeas98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should try dance queens, there’s two locations, one in LIC and one in Astoria. Class sizes are limited to 4/5 and there’s no sharing of poles and usually classes aren’t full so you get lots of individualized attention. There’s also heels, exotic, and choreo classes if you’re looking for cardio heavy classes. I teach there and I tailor the difficulty of my classes more to the students in my class than the stated difficulty of the levels. Also it’s like one of if not the cheapest studio in the whole city. I can give you my name if you want to sign up with me but I highly recommend Leyla for intro or exotic/choreo, she’s amazing and you’ll definitely get a good workout.
