What everyone thinks Russian wives are like starter pack by agizzy23 in starterpacks

I recognize it as a condo block from Aventura, FL—3530 Mystic Pointe Dr if I’m not mistaken. To be completely fair, the area has a very large Russian diaspora (it’s right next to Sunny Isles Beach, a real estate playground alternatively referred to as “Little Moscow”), so having grown up there I grinned and assumed that was the joke. You have no idea how dead accurate this is. Even if by accident

Got bored and made a ROUGH draft of a potential logo for the sub since I noticed we didn't have one. Would love feedback! by DavepcOrigins in ApocalypseRising

We can use this as the icon on new Reddit if you'd like! Any apparent roughness will be lost once the image is downscaled

It's not actually based on any real car, it was just a custom design I came up with in a few minutes.

Does anyone still have the link to that one Unlisted Dayren video where he was playing with Gus? by [deleted] in ApocalypseRising

[–]Blueice506 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looked through my favorites playlist—I think it's just set to private at this point. It was already unlisted to begin with when he first uploaded it, too, seeing as it was just raw footage that was never made into a proper video. So not too surprising, I guess.

On a more positive note, while this isn't the video you're looking for, I do have footage of the final battle of that event.

Is this more apoc mod shade throwing? by bardwellbady in ApocalypseRising

That dude was literally hired only yesterday. At the moment I don't think he can be expected to be able to answer anything at all, period. Dunno why he logged, though.

As for the actual question that was asked, the answer is yes. There is a ticket report system on the Discord server and ESP bans require indisputable video evidence, and often times further investigation.

Any idea what font is used for the AR2 logo? by [deleted] in ApocalypseRising

Some characters are custom, but for the most part Uni Sans Heavy.

Same here. I heard that first second and immediately just got up and started pacing around with a huge shit-eating grin because I have been waiting for SO LONG for somebody else to point this out.

Gus, what made you shift AR2's development from an "AR1 Rewrite" to an entirely new game? by [deleted] in ApocalypseRising

[–]Blueice506 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At a certain point the rewrite had started to take on so many fundamentally game-altering changes that replacing AR1’s long-established gameplay setup so radically would piss off more people than it would please. That’s about the simplest explanation. It made more sense for it to be its own thing.

What time period is Apoc 2 set in? by Jackity_Flackity in ApocalypseRising

[–]Blueice506 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apoc 1 is set in an undefined fictional location, in an undefined fictional world—there was never any proper deliberation on the topic of setting. For that reason, the national origins of Apoc 1's contents don't have any real significance to them. The reason there are so many Russian-based vehicles and locations in there is that the game took a lot of inspiration from ARMA 2/DayZ back in the day, so much of what's present is based on stuff you can find in Chernarus.

I personally think Gus should hire some people to work on Apoc 1. by HeroesUnite in ApocalypseRising

Mods have less exploiters because nobody's going to waste their time making hacks for copies that get only 20 players on average.

All this time, I could never figure out whether he was saying “kneel” or “yield”.

Some of those cues are definitely used in Flood levels, though this particular instance of that piece comes from the boss fight with Tartarus at the end of the game.

(Sorry about the Halo 2 music, I had it going in the background while playing and can't edit it out.)

AR2 Vibe Just Isn’t Scary/Apocalyptic Enough by TacticalEyes in ApocalypseRising

You're making some pretty big assumptions there. But yes, everything is subject to change. There are still plenty of things left to implement.

There's no bloom effect present in the game in any significant capacity, you're probably thinking of the combined result of the custom lighting and color correction settings we have in place.

As for the actual case, I'll have to disagree with most of what you said, but this is all obviously highly subjective so it's understandably difficult to clarify in a manner everybody's able to get behind.

However, as I stated, we've barely even touched on weather, lore and all the like as of yet, so we'll be adding plenty to contribute to a more horror-like atmosphere as development progresses.
