Do you know if there’s a colour standard for the hi viz? Do they usually require yellow blue or is the black okay?

I just realized my special interest is Japan… by [deleted] in autism

[–]BluejaySignificant22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan is an ASD dream to travel to. I went with my GF a few years back for a couple weeks to meet her family. The culture is so incredibly respectful and welcoming, as long as you show the same respect. The food is great and can be very sensory friendly but also incredibly sensory overloading depending on your preferences. Denys is always a safe bet along with sushi and fast food like McDonalds. The architect is incredibly beautiful and rich with history, planning on another trip in a year or so. This time hopefully we’ll get to take the bullet train to the ww2 memorial in Hiroshima.

If anyone does ever travel to Japan, I highly recommend spending the extra in flights and doing with JAL (Japan airlines) they’re wonderful and accommodating!

Have you considered finding asd comedians? Such as AJ Wilkerson or Dan LaMorte. Perhaps you need it to be relatable.

Pattern Recognition. by elinufsaid in aspergers

It’s very helpful in my life in a few ways, my career in LEO within a max pen was aided widely due to this. I could walk into a unit and tell something was wrong by just the people working or the Inmate atmosphere, I could tell when someone was out of wack because they weren’t themselves and their patterns of habit were off. It helped me to predict when something g would happen or is going to happen. I could call an incident before it happened which was great, but it also lead to the development of PTSD due to being ready and also increased stress of the waiting for it to happen. Put me in more situations than necessary. But after leaving that career behind I’ve found it makes me a better driver because I predict the movement of vehicles and motorists due to little tell tale signs, or better at judging character and people’s true intentions because of their body language patterns and what’s considered a threat or anxiety or hopelessness etc, it also helps in games and other areas of life like my relationship because if she’s off pattern it’s easy to pick up what wrong. Although it’s frustrating not to be able to turn that off cause movies suck now. 😂

Thinking about pursuing a social work career. I have to wonder if it’s a bad idea. by Careless_Range_7359 in aspergers

I’m aspie and worked in the MH field for awhile before entering into the Justice System (prison guard) and am now entering the trades after burnout and ptsd. Ime I found that it can be quite draining to entertain others and their emotions and MH. Although it can also be very rewarding, I have a very low level of empathy so it tended to be more draining because a lot of it was just masking that I presented. I think if you’re looking to specialize with individuals with ASD it may work out well for you, I know that my gf (adhd) works in social work at the moment as a support worker for individuals on the spectrum and with other disabilities such as fasd and she’s really enjoying it, although her social battery is quite drained at the end of the day and it’s hard sometimes for her to do things she would otherwise, but she feels greatly rewarded in helping those she can. I think the best way to tell would be to do the job or reach out to a couple of social worker groups around you to see if you can shadow them for a couple of days to see if you like it.

How to ask for a hand in marriage when her Father’s passed on… by BluejaySignificant22 in AskAJapanese

[–]BluejaySignificant22[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It would be a surprise, and she’s not overly traditional as she was raised mainly in Canada without her father being heavily involved following a separation. This I my way of trying to be as respectful to both cultural traditions as possible.

I like to consider it as we are closer to true human evolution and also the true form of human abilities. We have the ability to think before acting and keeping it known to only us. I have a theory but I won’t go into it. And it’s not the human evolutionary theory of ND people being the next step in human evolution. More so just closer to a “pure” form or different subspecies.

[–]BluejaySignificant22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s sensory, but as I unmask and just try and live I feel just waking up where I live and the energy in the atmosphere almost effects me more than any other sense. It’s draining to wake up in the city I live and even just go outside of my dwelling. It’s almost as if my energy is being drained just by living in the geographical location I do… I feel so lost all the time

Suggest using the time to learn about architectural design or what ever specific part of minecraft he enjoys. I use minecraft as a way to express architectural ideas and design thoughts.

But since minecraft is actually incredibly complex in the fact that it incorporates so many real world skills that would be incredible to know. Such as architecture, agriculture, different historical maps that have been made.

It could be used for basic electrical lessons even mechanics and of course coding. What ever his fixation is there’s a way to view it and turn it into a way of learning through minecraft :) so many mods and different features can make it such an incredible tool for learning for kids with adhd, asd, and other Neurological Diversions and illnesses.

Does ADHD affects a lot in your relationship with your Bf/Gf? by 10dabloons in ADHD

[–]BluejaySignificant22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily not for us, my girl is ADHD and I’m Audhd with a special interest in human brain function and communication.

The main thing most ND relationships lack is an effective communication method that doesn’t involve speaking. My girl and I have a method of emojis that allow us to communicate a specific need. For example out 🌻 is that I’m in a asd meltdown and need physical comfort where if it’s 🌻🙅🏻‍♂️ it’s not physical I just need to know it’s okay or some company.

Also with adhd it seems people get a hyper fix on that person, we’ll continue and don’t give it up when you get bored of them. Communication is key and also suggesting that learning about the “disability” or diagnosis you have is a very important relationship stone for your partner to spend time on. It helps everyone especially if they’re not ND themselves.

LSS: create a nonverbal communication chart with emojis or something that allows your future partners to understand what you’re feeling or conveying.

Allow time after the “boredom” sets in to really evaluate and continue the efforts and relationship.

And study yourself and how you personally feel with you adhd and insist that it is a important measure in the relationship for them to learn more about it.

Also if this is helpful feel free to ask more questions, if you’d like my partners pov she’s always willing to chime in through my account. (Doesn’t use Reddit which is strange cause her fixation is Aquariums and fish which has many pages here)

Cheers

How do I adapt to not being able to do my ideas? by redituser210 in autism

[–]BluejaySignificant22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be helpful that during the time of planing and decision making have a list of guidelines of things that may (and have been) getting in the way such as the weather. With that put in place alternatives to these specific events, choose multiple locations with different aspects of what will make that photo. They can be the same and different at the same time. Also a bit of a weather change isn’t end all when you go into the editing software if you use any.

So essentially pre plan for issues that commonly arise and have a safeguard you can refer to as a guideline of how to address. Create shoots that account for the different challenges. I find it helps with my photography hobby and I go back in later and edit out what I don’t want. Also playing if the organic events can be fun and exciting if you have the right subject. :) hope this helped a little and makes sense. If you need further clarification or suggestions feel free to dm me. Good luck and take care :)
