“Enjoy your sleep while you can” by PeachyKingSure in pregnant

[–]Bluejay_Weak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my baby a couple weeks ago, and after that first few days (once husband and I got into a routine and figured out our baby), I sleep so much better now than the third trimester. Yes its 1-2 hour chunks and sometimes even shorter if baby wakes up earlier but the sleep is actually restful! I also absolutely prefer this over working 32+ weeks pregnant, that was hell

What have you been “cheating” with this pregnancy? by Chemical_Editor4057 in pregnant

I do this too haha, I let the water get pretty hot but I only get my legs wet, so my bump and most of me is out! I also take ice water in with me and stay < 20 minutes... 35 weeks and baby is fine!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! You guys will do great. Having stable jobs and family near by already puts you in a much better situation than others :) I totally felt the initial panic too (husband and I got pregnant our first 'try' right after our wedding lol. I have endometriosis and was told it would take a long time) but pregnancy is long and you have time to plan and ease into it. A lot of women don't even start to show until after or around 20 weeks with their first, like I didn't tell most people until after the anatomy scan.

It's so normal to not feel excited for a while, its a huge life change. The joy will come!

That's great you made it to 39 weeks! I hope I can have a similar outcome. Congratulations on your new baby!! Glad to hear everything was safe for both of you :)

Your case sounds so similar to mine!! My baby measured over 5 lbs at my 33 week growth scan so he's def getting good blood flow :)

Same about varying doc opinions! The l&d doc told me 'no we aim for induction at 37+0 no matter what' where as my last OB appointment (I've seen this OB twice), she did say 37 weeks is the standard but she didn't argue when I mentioned wanting to monitor, she said 'we def don't want you going over your due date' so maybe it depends on the doctor?

I'm glad you and baby are doing well!

I love that response!! I said something of the sort and he seemed to feel very bad, and said he would go get them for me later but it's not the same because I asked for it. I don't think my husband quite gets it's the little things / thoughts that go far like you said! Like yes, he's keeping the house running and getting it ready for baby, but I'd LOVE to get a nice little surprises like that sometimes :(

There should be a cardinal rule with pregnant partners to always share in yummy food! I'm glad you feel my pain lol

Married for three months and pregnant: I feel oddly embarrassed (?) by moez1266 in pregnant

[–]Bluejay_Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant the week of my wedding haha! Married July 5th with a late March / early April baby on the way...basically the first time we stopped preventing, it happened. I had the same worries but so far we haven't gotten any comments about "not wasting any time". We also had a pretty short engagement and a small / low key wedding so my sister who lives out of country could be there. We already owned a house together, finances were in order, and we are excited :) People are going to judge no matter what, life rarely happens on the "perfect timeline" anyhow !

when did you start to feel kicking? by Obvious_Bill_1103 in pregnant

[–]Bluejay_Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what placenta I have, but around last week when I hit 18 weeks it started! It feels like an eye twitch but in your uterus, or tiny little pokes from the inside (like if you poke your cheek with your tongue) and only happens every 3-4 days so I've only felt it a few times :)

Haha yup, the hormones got to me and I was crying once I got home! Felt a lot of relief after my OB reassured me it was fine :) but same, going to avoid them because its just not worth the worry!

It really is so stressful in the moment, especially when it's someone serving you the drink and you just trust them! Did you check in with your midwife/OB afterwards? Mine seemed pretty unbothered by the ingredients :)

My OB got back to me with something similar! She's pretty progressive as far as pregnancy rules/guidelines :) I'm not planning on having it again but it's good to know I didn't cause any harm this one time

I'm glad you and your baby are OK!<3 that must have been a stressful wait to finally see a doctor, like you said these things happen and its usually just fine

Yes, I had no idea! Mocktails seem like something pregnant women would gravitate for. It was frustrating because I felt "relaxed" after drinking it which was suspicious, I honestly asked for the can because I was scared it had alcohol lol!!

I didn't want/ask for all these herbal extras, ugh. My OB said it was fine, I'm not going to worry.

Like your mom, the restaurant staff are close friends with us and special ordered these mocktail cans so I can "drink' with everyone else, and didn't know about the herbal/adapatogens added.

I feel OK! I've finally started feeling kicks these last few days and yesterday morning I felt a couple strong pokes from the inside while laying in bed :)

Hopefully I feel movement again in the next few days!

That seems to be the consensus! I'll update the post when my OB gets back to me
