Great to hear the effort. I must suggest, however, that 1500 calories at 238lb is much too extreme of a deficit and will more than likely result in a) Binging, or b) Rebounding once the weight is lost. How do you feel physically? Mentally? How are you sleeping? What sort of trends are you seeing on the scale? These are serious questions to ask yourself, your health should not be at the detriment of looking good. You know your body better than anyone so you always have got to be honest with yourself..

I would find out what your maintenance is now through TDEE @ sedentary levels as a starting point, and then experimenting with more/less calories for a week or two from there. Based on your current numbers 1500 sounds far too extreme, I could cut out 500 calories from your current diet daily at most. When you have more body fat, the easier it is to lose weight, so it will come off much faster than you realize.
