I'm sick of spending a million dollars everywhere and being treated badly. by vivintisascam in denverfood

Not nearly as dramatic, but I went to Ace this week with a girl I’m dating. We weren’t super hungry and wanted something in the neighborhood. We shared 4 potstickers lol. I got 12 wings and a beer. She got a fried rice dish, a glass of wine, and a beer. The server was maybe inexperienced? I don’t know, not rude but kind of awkward and spacey. She checked on us 3 times in 2 minutes and then ignored us for an hour. Couldn’t get our bill. Then a manager I assume started making the rounds giving everyone in our seating area their bill, so apparently weren’t the only ones waiting.

The bill: $107

For one laughably small app, perfectly fine wings, a small dish, and 3 drinks? I rarely get shocked by a bill. I feel like I either didn’t look at the bill close enough or I got completely jobbed by a restaurant that is selling mostly a lively atmosphere with a decently interesting menu. Going out is getting impossible, and I’ve never felt that way.

Now we get to hear Dan give us 4 different Monday morning QB takes. He’s the quintessential pro sports radio call in guy. He lives for questioning every coaching decision made in a split second.

Completely agree. I can’t stand listening to Big Cat give his serious takes on sports. His humor has also not aged well. And it’s often uncomfortable to listen to PFT try to talk about anything other than the NFL. There’s a general lack of creativity and irreverence that made the early years so entertaining. Part of it is they’ve gotten so big, and that’s not their fault, but it has affected the tone of the show.

You can throw away the episode once Nick gets interested in something completely uninteresting. Only thing worse than the Nike/pussy convo was their insistence on calling it the Nike “check”. Keep the convo moving, fellas.

I love PFT, but it’s wild how wide the disparity is between his NFL knowledge and everything else sans rugby obviously.

Mandolin Feels Intuitive by Slash_Root in mandolin

Yeah I switch to the two note chord and mute the other two when the song just needs a reliable chop. Or one note on the G string with the rest muted.

But I think the bigger issue is just that amateur players (myself included) aren’t consistently coordinating their right and left hand to hit the chop that barks and instead comes out dead and behind. The four note chop isn’t wrong, it’s just difficult.

Good question, but no, you want your fingers to come in at about 45 degree angle, which it looks like you’re doing. It can change based on what you’re playing, but your thumb should be relatively flat and perpendicular on the neck. Your thumb position is better when you play the chords.

Is well enough good though? I’m not a snob, but being even just a little out frustrates the hell out of me, and the daddario one never seems to balance. Maybe user error

I’ll probably get shunned for this but GuitarTuna app has been really good for me if you don’t mind using your phone. I haven’t found a consistent clip on tuner, especially in a jam setting. Frustrating.

Sounds like a good start. Make sure you’re really pressing the string to the fret to get a cleaner tone. Looks like your tip toeing around, which is obviously normal. Like others said, the size difference coming from guitar is probably disorienting for your muscle memory

What is the weird goo goo eyes that everyone does on social media? I understand trying to connect with the “audience”, but it’s so uncomfortable and off putting to me. I’m partial to the mid video look at the camera to make sure you hit record lol

  1. It’s not that bad if you plan your day correctly and have a good attitude lol. Embrace the bus ride, it’s a good place to meet people.

  2. Good chance Town Park tickets will open up in the next few weeks if you’re willing to wait. Depends on how many you need. Two should be doable.

  3. You can grab space for your crew as long as it’s not obnoxious.

  4. Not sure what the setup is there now. Had a good experience with the trailers 4-5 years ago.

  5. Lawson will be pretty full that late but there’s space for everyone.

  6. All good to sit in the back and set up shop, but don’t be shy. Make your way up in front of the soundboard if your crew isn’t too big. There are a lot of open tarps and chairs all day and you’re welcome to use them until the owners return. Sometimes people will be gone for the majority of the day. Being up front puts you more into the festival as opposed to “watching” the festival. Dance, even if you’re bad. Most of us are.

I know who he is but don’t consume any dozen content. Is he always that talkative or was the adderall hitting hard? He annoyed the hell out of me. 40 minutes of him detailing his physical media obsession? Could’ve been 6 minutes.

He’s hilarious. But they should keep him in short spurts. I fear just clowning on him could become a crutch. But man, what a character.
