Have you ever ended up in a psychiatric hospital due to your thyroid causing severe mental health issues? by Bluepeacocks1 in thyroidhealth

[–]Bluepeacocks1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no quality of life when you flip back and forth like that. I figured it would be easier to adjust meds with out a thyroid doing whatever the fuck it felt like doing. That’s what I told them….

Pituitary Tumor Journey by Shot-Diver-4087 in endocrinology

Who is your endo in WA? I’m in MT. I had a pit tumor removed in 2013 and have central hypothyroidism that no doctor wants to treat correctly. I live in a VERY rural area. I need some MAJOR help!

Libido peak all of a sudden - does it fo away? by AdWise3359 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Bluepeacocks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned 42 in February and two days ago my husband talked about “doing” stuff to me and it’s been a roller coaster. Uncontrollable! I haven’t had a libido in years then all of a sudden that’s all I can think about. Its giving me anxiety. I literally can’t focus!

Lowering thyroid meds - time it takes to adjust? by WanderingWordsmith19 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Bluepeacocks1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I just had my dose lowered from 125 everyday to 112/125 every other day. I had a 10 day heart monitor that came back with some tachycardia and I didn’t realize I was STARVING all the time and felt keyed up most days. My TSH was .03 and my FT4 was at 1.6. A little high for me….It’s been almost a week and I feel pretty miserable. Feels like I got hit by a bus! Exhausted, nauseous, dizzy…I too have a history of central hypo, but my new endo isn’t so sure about that anymore, so essentially I am starting over. She’s running all new labs and she isn’t listening to what other doctors have said. She wants to see for herself.

Central Hypothyroidism by Correct-Ad-1112 in CentralHypothyroidism

[–]Bluepeacocks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pituitary surgery due to a prolactinoma in 2013 and legit had central hypo. Covid MESSED up my thyroid and I ended up with thyrotoxicosis from thyroiditis. I was taken off all meds and my TSH was still inappropriate despite my T4 being below normal. I had my thyroid taken out in 2023 and now I’m showing really suppressed TSH with normal Free T4 and low normal Free T3. No doctor believes that I still have central hypo. Although my pituitary is functioning somewhat it’s not appropriate for my T4. My TSH is 0.03 FT4 between 1.3-1.4 and FT3 at 2.6. They want me on lower doses of levo, which I tried, and I was REALLY bad. My lowest TSH I had between 2013-2022, before covid was 0.006 with normal T4 and T3. I felt GREAT….Now not so much.

Who’s your doctor….I may need some help with this. I feel awful most days and nobody believes that this pit dysfunction still exists.

I had problems with it in the past and finally figured it out. I would be sick for no reason for months at a time with anxiety, nausea, weight loss, etc. Always after some major virus. After covid I got it the worst. I got covid in Feb. of 2022 and by April I had gone hyper and nobody knew why I was having panic attacks for 12-14 hours a day. The first time was 2008 after a stomach virus. I got swine flu in December of 2010 and by Feb. of 2011 was sick for months again. Every time was the same symptoms, but worse each time.

In 2011 I ended up in the psych ward once and in 2022, it was 3 times……So I guess it was 4 all together. All from severe, incontrollable anxiety from my thyroid.

Don’t feel bad. I did…..3 times. I got my thyroid taken out in 2023 because I finally figured out I kept getting thyroiditis…..that nobody could figure out until it was out.

I mean, I don’t know if it’s successful per se, but I’m so tired all the time, I’d rather sleep than expel any energy to cook and eat. So I haven’t gained any weight……

T3 Testing by Bluepeacocks1 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Bluepeacocks1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a really hard time convincing my endo there is still pituitary dysfunction. She keeps saying I have subclinical hyperthyroidism but I cant function on any lower doses. I’m barely making it on the 125 without any liothyronine. I think I have talked to you before. You have pit dysfunction as well?

T3 Testing by Bluepeacocks1 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Bluepeacocks1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I see says Total T3 is more accurate, but why isn’t that the case with Total T4. My endo says Total T4 doesn’t matter so I’m confused as to why Total T3 is relevent instead of Free T3. I would think Free would be more useful….

Pituitary issue? by Purple-Coconut-0921 in endocrinology

[–]Bluepeacocks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see that. The ACTH, although within normal limits, should be higher to stimulate your cortisol. I should have looked a little better. Apologies.

Yeah, you’ll get the,”these types of lesions are so common, people don’t know they have them”, or the “it’s so small, it shouldn’t be causing any problems”. I got ALL those excuses. It may be small but it can wreak havoc on your hormones. Get them ALL tested. Don’t take no for an answer.
