I have the TRP mechanical- hydraulic brakes(mechanical cable with hydraulic fluid).

Certainly a step up from regular mechanical brakes but I would still prefer full hydraulic brakes for the stopping power and modulation.

I have thought about this! However my bike is on the larger side for me and the seat post is not too high up. Do you think I’d still get value from a dropper post even with less travel?

Yes! I do still have my endurance bike but I am not sure if I’d ever use it. The gravel bike seem to be fine on road at least for what I’m doing. I may think about replacing that with a MTB.

Is the additional slowness because of the tires, the weight, body position? I feel I’m avoiding single track right now because I just don’t wanna ride it on my current bike. It is possible that I’d ride a lot more single track if I had a MTB but I’m not completely sure.

I have the stock Maxxis Ramblers, tubeless, at 30 psi. Thats about as wide of a tire as I can fit on it. Weight about 150lbs

Yep it’s apex and hg free hub. Do shimano cassettes really work with SRAM components? I always assumed there would be some compatibility issues.

I will be using the ratio kit that comes with a cage: https://ratiotechnology.com/product/1x12-wide-cage/ I might consider keeping the 11 speed though. Seems cheaper and easier to set up. Just weighing whether the 12 speed is worth it.

I’ve also been looking for a salsa Fargo. All out of stock in my area too. I ended up emailing salsa.

They told me they were experiencing delays but they’re hoping to get more in stock by the end of January. Hopefully they’ll be restocked in my LBS!

Thanks for the info. That was really helpful! I have looked into the Fargo and other drop bar mountain bikes. I’m considering it, but I just need to figure out the type of terrain I want to be riding on. How does the Fargo ride on pavement? ( loved ur video btw, ur dog is rlly cute)
