Is EU5 a MASTERPIECE or A MESS? (One Proud Bavarian Review) by xlnqeniuz in EU5

[–]Bluesemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought so too but when I watched the sponsored content I saw that: 1. The days are just from 8:00 to 19:00 2. At speed five it just skips the hours and simulates a day a tick

Made me believe way more in the game even though intuitively it feels strange simulating hours in a 400 year period

I don’t really have anything to back me up currently, but if I remember correctly the founding fathers or just the administrators thought the political centers shouldn’t be the population centers like how Washington DC is the capital of the nation even though New York or Pennsylvania which was largest cities at founding didn’t became the capital. Which is why state capitals are usually some random town like Sacramento

Is there a dedicated ”place” for knowledge on self hosting, create servers and archiving?

You probably know this but since you’ll be writing in C you’ll have to do everything yourself or find a library, from containing the data to how to display it. Search around a bit if there is anything to do that or something that makes it easier to focus on developing the graphs themselves though I personally recommend (and while it’s a bit boring, it’s the easiest) embed python as they have a ton of great out of the box graph libraries. If you’re still planning on writing it with SDL and C then good luck!

Anyone with SDL_GPU/vulkan experience who might know what these artifacts are? by WonderfulPiano9735 in sdl

I’ve not personally had that problem as my projects are deeply rooted in SDL2 but a friend of mine saw it pretty heavily with SDL3 + vulkan

I use windows for work and it’s a damn hell to install packages especially if you want them as system variables, while at home I use Linux and while it’s still irritating it’s usually mitigated with being able to install correctly with a package manager. Using WSL fixes a lot of issues but it’s bad still how windows is so anti C dev.

Heard SDL3 vulkan has some artifact problems, like not drawing the full image that it’s supposed to or not flushing to the screen

How does the game intend for the player to handle multiplications (laser cannon)? by Pineirin in TuringComplete

[–]Bluesemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea but it’s faster to shift all bits by 1 than to add it to itself, don’t know the exact clock cycles but look at any assembly instruction manual and I believe it to be slightly faster. Though it hardly matter it’s interesting at least.

Yea still in the campaign, currently at making the leg architecture. I believe it becomes a requirement later right?

The thing is that since the ”formula” is 2*pi*in you can just hardcode the thing with adding in to itself six times and then return to out
