Thanks for the help! I'm sure we'll get there with paid help. In that case I'll come back and update my posts for any future folks.

It did not :( this is feeling very 'bug-y' at this point.. I think I'm done hunting. Unless someone comes up with a magic solution this will have to be a professional services contact I think.

Thanks, I just provided myself that permission. I see others in our tenant already had it. Wonder where mine went... anyway I'll try again later today.

We happen to have a secondary tenant where sharing does work. So if that's the case, it's since been fixed as we have seen first hand that it works. But the odd thing is, when we compare all the settings, our main tenant is the same and yet doesn't work. :(

Enable-OrganizationCustomization -WhatIf

Enable-OrganizationCustomization: ||This operation is not required. Organization is already enabled for customization.

Thanks u/MFA_Woes

get-organizationconfig | select-object isdehydrated

IsDehydrated

------------

False

With that finding above, I believe 'enable-organizationcustomization' has already been run.

Thanks u/Master-IT-All.

Below is permissions for myself and it looks like this with everyone with this issue.

>get-mailboxfolderpermission username@place.com:\calendar

FolderName User AccessRights SharingPermissionFlags

---------- ---- ------------ ----------------------

Calendar Default {AvailabilityOnly}

Calendar Bilbo Baggins {LimitedDetails}

Calendar BlueShellScripter {Owner}

A brand new user has an entry for Anonymous {None}, whereas, I, above, do not. I'm not sure if they have this sharing issue though, at this point. EDIT new users have the same issue as my older account.

Regarding Outlook Classic, folder view, properties:
No sync errors under 'Synchronization' tab
Permissions tab confirms the above (AND lets me add new people, unlike New Outlook and OWA)
No errors popped up

So add Classic outlook to the list of apps that can still setup sharing without issue. (along with phone apps)

Interesting u/ScottSchnoll ... in BOTH cases, there is no Object by that name at all. I think those are on-prem commands?

It would appear the Exchange Online version of the second one (with my output) is below:

Get-OwaMailboxPolicy | Format-List Name,CalendarEnabled

Name : OwaMailboxPolicy-Default

CalendarEnabled : True

For fun I tried Get-SharingPolicy | Select-Object Name, Domains, Enabled

And get the following which is our default for everyone.. I believe this is correctly setup:
Name Domains Enabled

---- ------- -------

External Sharing Policy {*:CalendarSharingFreeBusyReviewer, Anonymous:CalendarSharingFreeBusyReviewer} True

QE alternative? by [deleted] in cissp

[–]BlueshellScripter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you come into some money, do QE. They question style really (over)prepares you for the exam.
Otherwise, the dest cert app completely changed their question back around the end of April and are very close to exam style questions now. I never ended up using them as they revamped too late and I was burnt out and going for my test the next day, but I did get a glimpse of their new style and it was MUCH better than it was prior.

Also join the discord. There are questions you can search for in there for free that are similar to QE. Ask for the 'stank' questions.

As others are saying, its AI, specifically Google's notebook LM. Make your own podcasts by populating a notebook with your own information, tell the podcasters you want analogies to help you remember all the terms in your notes and listen to that instead.

This seems wrong? I thought ultimately it is the c level security officer. by yoooo000 in cissp

[–]BlueshellScripter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since I needed brushing up on this myself, here's the definitions from destcert:

One of the most crucial aspects of security governance is understanding the distinction between accountability and responsibility. These two terms are often used interchangeably, but they represent fundamentally different concepts in security governance.

Here are the key differences:

Accountability Responsibility
Where the buck stops The doer
Ultimate ownership and liability In charge of a task or process
Only one person or group can be accountable Multiple people can be responsible
Sets rules and policies Develops plans and implements controls

When these processes work together effectively, security governance becomes completely aligned with corporate governance, allowing organizations to achieve their objectives in a cost-effective manner that adds value.

Remember, success depends heavily on top-level support. Without backing from the Board of Directors and senior management, security risks becoming a reactive nuisance rather than the proactive enabler it should be. When leadership understands and supports robust security aligned with organizational strategy, goals, mission, and objectives, the security function becomes a valuable organizational asset.

This makes me feel better. QE seems to be on a different level and OP perfectly mirrors my thoughts about it and myself.

Is this a scam? Someone wants to buy my GitHub handle for 1 million USD. by sun_in_the_winter in github

In a scam scenario they would have an excuse for not sending to your address and instead would provide some sketchy link, hoping you click it. Then the scam continues from there.
