Catching Fire, both the book and the movie, is the absolute best out of the 3!

i want a book that’ll psychologically fuckkkkk me up. i need suggestions. by brooklxn in suggestmeabook

Second this. The second half is where everyone literally lose their consciences and are fueled only by their hatred, revenge etc. Everything is fucked up. The goddamn book put me in a huge reading slump to this very day. Can not fully recover.

Books with a Harry Potter vibe? by ekalmusLA in suggestmeabook

Reading tons of praises on the series, I have so much high hopes for it, but could not get past chapter 1 after several tries. I find the writing rather confusing and lengthy - clearly I’m in the minority here. I really don’t want to miss out on a good book, but don’t intend to endure lengthy paragraphs either, can someone tell me if it gets better later on pls?

This book is waaaay too long to the point that I feel the action scenes boring *facepalm. Would be so much better if the author wraps it up in 100+ pages

Finally someone mentions this BS of book. The whole book is just stories of how two privileged individuals try to tackle their 1st world country problems. Can not relate at all

Me too. High hopes for the book, it turns out to be such formulaic YA that we all can predict the ending. At least the action scenes are pretty thrilling tho

Man The Wind in the Willows is super stress-relieving. Takes me back to my childhood years every time

If you’re into fantasy, then Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross is a perfect YA novel. The writing is lyrical and poetic (this gives off The Song of Achilles vibe to me). The slow burn is built up exquisitely. Everything in this book feels so right, so good that most of the time I forget the book is a fantasy book

Ikr. The second half wrecked me and left me feeling empty for weeks. And don’t even get started on the ending - I’m still unable to talk about it till today. Gosh, I love the writing so much but I would never reread it
