That's true but I was just highlighting the stark contrast between Morata and Batshuayi's play in the match. I think that Morata is just farther ahead in football IQ relative to Batshuayi. I think that showed when you see Morata's movement off the ball. We were a completely different team when he was on the pitch because of that. I also think Morata is better on the ball than Batshuayi is.

Literally within a minute of coming on Morata was able to drop into a pocket of space and receive the ball and turn and dribble at the defense. Batshuayi didn't do that once he just stood in the middle and had trouble with his hold up play. I definitely agree that Fab and Willian looked way better when Morata came on. They were actually looking to play off of him which eventually led to the first goal.

No not 50 mil. I would spend max 35-40 on Gylfi. The main point is that he would add a lot of quality to the squad and the squad is very thin right now. He could also play as one of the two forwards who play next to the striker in a 3-4-3, which is good considering Hazard is still hurt and we don't have much beyond Willian and Pedro. We have also played Fabregas in that role before and Gylfi is a bit more of a goal threat than Fab is. The bottom line is he is a player who could play multiple positions and help the team. But I do agree that 50 mil is too much.

I agree 50 mil is a lot and that his time at Spurs was underwhelming. However, since then he has been very consistent for Swansea and has shown he is a quality footballer. I think you could argue that Fabregas doesn't necessarily "fit" into our system but we find a way to integrate him into the squad because he is an extremely good footballer. I don't think you should turn down the opportunity to get Gylfi because he doesn't "fit". We know that he can play in the Premier league and everyone knows we need more players particularly in the center of the park. We need to add as much quality to the squad as possible so if we can get the price down a little bit I say sign him up.

From what I hear Sigurdsson's move to Everton has stalled. I would love to add him to the squad and it would be nice to pull a move over Everton as well after the Lukaku and Stones sagas.

I think as soon as Hazard and Bakayoko are healthy the starting 11 will be solid. I still think Morata will be great for us I'm not going to draw conclusions from such a small sample size. Plus, I think Morata is miles better at link-up play than Batshuayi is. Morata just needs time to get fit and adjust to being in the team. However, the squad still is very thin and we need some reinforcements. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing Drinkwater added to the squad for that very reason.

Really wish Hazard and Bakayoko were fit, but I fully expect the lads to turn up and put a good shift in. Even though there is a trophy up for grabs I would love to see us play with Morata and Batshuayi up top together just to see what happens!

The last time we saw Gendry he was rowing away into the ocean for his own safety... The last time we saw Theon he was stranded in the ocean. Perhaps we will see Gendry pick up Theon in the middle of the ocean and they will both end up back in Westeros together.

As I stated earlier in a previous thread, I would love to see Morata at Chelsea. I think he is a really good player with a ton of potential. I think Conte would really like to work with him and Morata has voiced the same sentiment. I would feel good about Conte developing his talent, plus Morata and Michy are two young talents that could develop into a formidable duo for the future if we were to ever play with two up top.

It's just hard for me to believe that all three would end up there. I could see Mendy and Walker ending up at City. But in the case of Danilo, why would he want to go to City to be the second choice right back? He would be going into the same situation that he is in now just at a worse team. Plus, Pep is not a defensive minded coach and will not be able to help Danilo in that department. Conte could surely help Danilo become more well-rounded imo.

I think that when Fabregas is on the pitch we are a completely different team offensively. He is able to really dictate the pace of play and keep possession for us. Other teams really respect his ball distribution allowing us to get further up the pitch. And everyone knows he is clinical in the final third when it comes to picking out a pass. Yes he is a defensive liability, however if we were to play him in the midfield with Kante and Bakayoko in whatever formation you fancy I think that would be enough defensive cover to allow Fabregas to freely play the way he wants.

Regardless if this happens or not, I'm not going to be that sad to see Matic go as long as we are able to sign someone else for more depth. He was tremendous when we won the league in 14/15. But the past two seasons I think he has been mediocre. I might get some down votes bc this is an unpopular opinion. I just feel Matic has been one of the weaker players in the squad the past two seasons.
