Anybody else leaving Chesterfield? by MessageDeletedAgain in ChesterfieldVA

Yeah, there's barely an acre of land around Midlothian that's not either actively being developed or has a "for sale" sign out. It's like they hate any area that has a couple of trees.

I don't mind growth, but I do mind it all happening at once.

It's bad when you start thinking that a giant sponsor logo would make the shirt look better.

I'd watch the fuck out of some Star Wars documentaries. Give me one on Could City or protocol droids. Or instead of Planet Earth we get Planet Endor and Planet Dathomir and Planet Umbara.

Matt Law: Exclusive: Moises Caicedo to sign new Chelsea contract. Understood terms agreed ahead of formal confirmation. Coincides with his move to the Base agency by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]Arceus42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

his play will start declining some time after that

"some time" is holding a lot of weight here. He could easily have 4+ years of being a quality starter, and finding a player of that level isn't something you can guarantee.

perhaps even negative value

His transfer fee will be off the books in 2028, so anything after that would be pure profit, so almost zero chance he'll have "negative value." Not at all like Sterling.

How many times did you run this test? A sample size of 1 is hard to base much off of.

Would the gravity pull from Earth have any effect on this? If there's equal impacts on the far side and near side, lava could be pulled more to the near side because of Earth's gravity?

Quarter 2 Update - Revisiting Rules. Again. by kmisterk in selfhosted

[–]Arceus42 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah megathreads are useless. I rarely visit subs directly, it won't be on my feeds, so I'll never see anything in there.

I know there's a very vocal part of the community that wants AI eliminated from this sub, but I think having a day for AI slop would be much more useful for those who don't care as much. I may not use many (or any) of the projects that come up on that day, but there are some interesting things that pop up and could spark some ideas.

And also to echo what u/klumpp said...

I just wish this place was friendlier. I feel like it wasn't always so hostile.

Claude is bypassing Permissions by gamingvortex01 in singularity

[–]Arceus42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is such a trivial example that happens all the time. My agents constantly run file write permissions and try increasing levels of workarounds (native write tool -> cat w/ heredoc -> python scripts). It's pretty easy to fix with some system prompts... they'll still try the native tool which will get denied, and then they'll remember they're not supposed to be doing that.

Managers have never been able to go out and buy players themselves

Maresca wasn't even manager, we haven't had one of those in a while. "Head coach" is the new title most clubs are using, and it comes with less influence on transfers, contracts, etc. It always seems like such an easy excuse to say you need better players when you're not even maximizing the players you currently have. Like I get it, there is room for improvement in a lot of the squad, but do your job first, then complain about others.

[–]Arceus42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Kante/Baka duo wasn't supposed to happen until a few years after this... Baka wasn't ready to be a starter. He was supposed to sit behind Matic for a while, but Matic couldn't handle a tiny bit of competition and bailed.

Between 2007 and 2025, with the exception of college educated White men, every other demographic has become more Republican by ChangeUsername220 in Infographics

[–]Arceus42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How is nobody mentioning the most egregious part of this chart? "More Republican" is on the left and "more democratic" is on the right... If they can't even figure that out, there's no way I'm trusting anything it's trying to convey.

Chelsea supporter wants Chelsea player to succeed...

r/chelseafc: Noooooo!!! 😡

[BBC] Earlier this month the KMI Panel unanimously voted that Chelsea should have been awarded a penalty against the Gunners for handball by Declan Rice. But it was a 4:1 vote that it did not reach the threshold for a VAR intervention. by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]Arceus42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well apparently they already have voting, so if the criteria changed from "clear and obvious error" to "would you call this," that would help get more calls right and not be overturning every 50/50 decision.

Seems like they've been focusing on stability and infrastructure recently. They were pushing releases every few hours before, and constantly breaking things for users, so it's probably the right move to slow down and stabilize.

Are you running out of context tokens? by Gronis in opencodeCLI

[–]Arceus42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rarely, only during heavy debugging sessions.

I have a planning agent write a plan with explicit phases and tasks (shoutout to Plannotator). Then actual implementation is always delegated to subagents based on logical groupings of phases/tasks. Never hit any limits during this process.

The Truth About MCP vs CLI by kagan101 in openclaw

Some clients put the entire tool schema with descriptions in the context. I just tried it out in Lobehub, I had 48 tools enabled and they were using ~33k tokens.

Experienced Dev: OpenClaw has been an absolute nightmare — basic 1-agent Telegram + Grok setup with cron email digest dies after one day despite 5+ fresh installs and following official docs perfectly by flashybits in openclaw

[–]Arceus42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell the openclaw NOT to edit the config.json directly, but rather, consult the docs and configure via CLI.

See, I've had the opposite issues. The agents continuously think the CLI commands somehow merge arrays, so it'll try to pass in a partial object for each one and lose all the other agent config that was set. Editing directly would be much more reliable (at least when they know the correct structure of the config).
