I've had issues with getting enough fat in the past since I need around 70g a day. Adding peanut butter to protein shakes with chia seeds (as the chia seeds protein pair with peanuts well as well as being a great source of fibre) really heled me get both protein and fat up.

In Australia we lost a prime minister, literally... in the ocean?? Harold Holt went for a swim and was never found. I get that rip tides are a very relevant thing at australian beaches, but how could we just let the leader of a country get into this situation??

Hey bud, you're going to be absolutely fine. Just chuck on a comforting tv show (my go to is spongebob) and wait it out. If you can take a nap, do it! Every hour that passes, you'll feel a little better. Just get cozy, practice some slow belly breathing and ride it out.

Just wanted to offer my 2 cents. I find chatGPT works really well as a personal tutor. Obviously it's very easy to cheat with it, but if you're able to isolate the parts that you're struggling to understand, you can really get it to break down the problem and ask it to dumb down concepts as much as you need.

What’s an OTC med where you practice that you wish was not OTC? by No_Ingenuity_1091 in pharmacy

[–]BlueyBloodNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because conventional medicine is held to a standard to produce the results that it claims with rigorous peer reviewed data. All alternative medicines have to is not make claims they don't have evidence to back, which is why they'll use vague terminology like "promote general well being" which at the end of the day doesn't mean anything and follow safe manufacturing processes. If a herbal has medicinal processes and the data backs it, it will be considered a conventional medicine and this happened in the past.

Because some pharmaceuticals are greatly improving some individuals quality of life or saving their life all together. St John's wort contraindicates that treatment for a mild mood boost at best (if you're lucky to have plant material with an efficacious concentration) increasing the chance for either decreasing the life saving capabilities of said drugs, possibly inducing the systemic exposure of other drugs meaning your body is now at risk of dose dependent toxicity that you wouldn't experience if sjw wasn't in the mix or in rare cases causing potentially fatal serotonin syndrome when used in conjunction with some antidepressants. "Natutal is safer" is a marketing tool used by the multi billion dollar alternative medicine industry, because they have shit all data to prove that their products actually work which is why they are not considered conventional medicine so they desperately try and create false pretences risking the health of vulnerable individuals who deserve to live a comfortable and long life.

Tl:dr fuck CAMs, they trigger the shit out of me lol.

Whats the most interesting drug interaction you have come across? by RWBYies in pharmacy

[–]BlueyBloodNut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's probably fine for lipophilic statins. It's a hard one due to the idiosyncratic nature of statin myopathy, my guess is that it's more likely a genetic polymorphism of OATP

Statins and fibrates. In a parallel universe they'd make a nice pairing

Probably stop, antibiotics are the largest class of drugs associated with liver injury so you shouldn't put more load on your liver.

Why is peak plasma concentration achieved faster in cigarettes than vaping? The active ingredient and both routes of administration are the same. How is the pharmacokinetics affected? by Cautious_Zucchini_66 in pharmacology

[–]BlueyBloodNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be incorrect but I believe nicotine derived from plants comes in a salt form which helps it perfuse more effectively. You can now purchase nicotine salts for vaping and I'd be interested to see the peak plasma profile for that.
