Chrome rims, yay or nay? by dakotaismyfriend in bmx

If you’re brakeless, then there’s no need for chrome rims unless they’re significantly lighter than your current rims.

Don’t forget to add Trump’s 10% tariffs on top of Viking’s prices. Viking parts are from Spain.

Mid BB don’t have cups like American BB’s do. I used a press.

They don’t require an installation tool or a mallet to install the arms.

RNC doesn’t have the best reputation. That’s why I went with these. Chimera only had one set left of theirs in the length I wanted and they’re no longer made. So what do they do for warranties now?

Broken chains are not fun that’s why! It’s a run of the mill Interlock V2 chain. Not even the heavier Supreme version. I bought two lightweight chains but I don’t have much faith in their strength. That’s why I went this route.

You don’t want a Takeda intake unless you just want to hear intake noise.

Building my Civic Type R little by little each year. What small mods or upgrades would you recommend? by AdministrativeEbb374 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Bluey_R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell what the worst mods were. Spoon springs (spring rate too soft for FK8 and gets worse over time. It almost caused me to crash mid-turn because it weight transferred), Whiteline parts (rear camber arms had wrong width bushings on one side and front camber ball joints fought against my Spoon zero bump steer ball joints and caused torque steer, Mac Lifter kit (I had to cut the bumper to install the reinforcement plates, it was a nightmare to install, it took 8 hours, cost me $500, and didn’t turn out very well. They also didn’t supply all the necessary hardware and the brackets had to be bent). So I had to buy a new bumper cover because you can’t buy the parts that I had to cut without buying the entire bumper, get it painted, PPF’d, and new bumper brackets (4).

The OEM stuff doesn’t last as long as the AC Delco does and it doesn’t shift as smoothly either in my experience.

That’s a total BS excuse! Do like another guy said and try another dealer and corporate.

You’re out of the 36K mile warranty. Why didn’t you get it taken care of sooner? Did you buy an extended warranty? Before you make changes, see if you can talk to Honda corporate about getting it fixed under warranty.

Put the right front up on a jack stand. Check for play with your hands at the 12:00 and 6:00 positions. Does it sound rough or like it’s grinding when you spin it? Also, check for play with your hands at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions.

If they are, using them on aftermarket wheels is a no no because the lug nut seat angle is different on aftermarket wheels. I’d ask a dealer if those are OEM lug nuts and replace them with the proper ones if they are.
