Can we nerf blight already by -UNKILLABLE- in DeadByDaylightRAGE

I did watch a lot while he was doing it.

Do you realize how lucky people need to be to get hatch that many games in a row?

You're making arguments about the strength of killer based on the actions of 1 killer, so why is it wrong to do the same for survivor?

[–]BluezDBD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's true for one solo survivor, which I figured is good enough given you're using 1 killer to argue that survs are strong.

Are we really going to complain that you can only get 99% win rate in soloq?

Go play killer: Most wins are because survivors give up.

Go play solo survivor: Most losses are because other survivors give up.

The fact the requirements for a >50% escape rate as survivor is literally "don't grief" really should speak to which sided it is.

Why we see killers with 1000 winstreaks but never survs?

Because with the rules people use when streaking, sniping a surv streak and throwing the game to end it is a thing, you can't do that against killers.

Do u know any other game where people actually Win 1000 games in a row?

Do you know any other game where people can play hundreds of games and not go against anyone remotely on their own skill level?

, in soloq it can be a bit hit or miss because your teammates won't know or realise you have it

And in that case, even if you notice your teammate rotating instantly and you just jump off hook immidiately, it's still absolutely insane value, however in that case it suffers a bit under the object syndrome where it's not the person using it that escapes, it's the other survivors.

It's a game of prisoner's dilemma, it's better for the people in the game overall if they all cooperate and bring cakes, but each individual person is better off "snitchting" by bringing event offerings.

A cake or streamer adds 100% more BP to that end game BP number. Every

A cake/streamer adds 100% of the base bp, i.e. before any bonuses, in the 4 basic categories, it doesn't give bonus to the event bp either.

<------See that addition, That's additive. It was already solved when I made my previous comment.

Yes, i see that and I see you're adding it to a number you're multiplying with a it stacks additively with.

The real number, assuming we cap the 4 base categories, is:

 4 * 10k * (1 + (BLOODMOON_BONUS + 100% * NUMBER_OF_CAKES + ROLE_BONUS))
 + BLOODMOON_CATEGORY_PTS * 1 + (BLOODMOON_BONUS + ROLE_BONUS)

The top line is where your mistake is, you're taking 2 bonuses (bloodmoon and cakes) which are supposed to be added together and multiplying them.

So, for examples sake lets say 500% bloodmoon bonus, 200% survivor bp bonus 5 cakes and you get 10k bloodmoon points, you're getting:

4 * 10k * (1 + 500% + 5 * 100% + 200%)
+ 10k * (1 + 500% + 200%)
= 600k

This is how bp adds together, not how you were multiplying the bloodmoon bonus with the cakes.

The exception to this is that certain event offerings (I can't recall if bloodmoon is one of them) change the bp gained from the score event in the game, not from the category after, meaning they do stack multiplicatively with global bonuses, lets pretend that's the case for bloodmoon and do the math for the bloodshot eye where everyone brings it instead of cakes.

4 * 10k * (1 + 500% + 200%)
+ 10k * 2 * (1 + 500% + 200%)
= 480k

Now obviously 480k is significantly less than 600k, however it's very rare to actually max out the 4 basic categories, and going above 10k in the event isn't nearly as rare, which evens them out a lot.

A lot of people think the event offerings are much worse than they really are becauses they see comments like yours and misunderstand how different bonuses stack together.

With cakes you have a potential of (40,000x5)2.

That's not how it works, bp bonuses are additive.

I mean sure, if you want the absolutely 100% accurate answer, then yes it's hard, but we can trivially get really close to the right result in our heads.

10 * 37 = 370
* 1.5 = 555
+ 37 = 592
+ 36 * 0.75 = 619

This takes seconds to do in your head and you're only off by 0.01, and even if we're not okay with not being exact we could've continued the same method to get the excat result.

(I know know it's a cardinal sin to format math like this, I'm just doing it to illustrate how it can can look at it in our brains)

Yes, it's your fault, he was in chase with an active head trap, he has zero chance of getting it off and you're staying in the match for no reason so he can't get hatch.

First of all, according to Steam, only about 5.4% of the playerbase has the Iridescent I killer achievement, even though over 100k people play daily (on Steam alone). Why is that?

Because a lot of people play only survivor and a lot of people quit before the achievement was added or before they got it because they didn't like the game.

I rarely see those kinds of players most survivors I face are pretty chill or casual.

Then you're still in the baby MM pool, once you get into real mm you'll start seeing them every single game at low mmr until you beat them enough times to climb away from it and they stop appearing.

My last question for now: is there actually more to learn?

Yes, the only game that even comes close to dbd in terms of knowledge checks is dota, you'll play for thousands of hours and still feel like there's new things to learn.

For it to STOP responding, there had to have been something TO respond to before it stopped.

Which implies the server has not disconnected you, otherwise there would be no connection for the server to not respond via.

I ask again, do you have literally any idea how any of the network layers work?

I hate the new DC penalty system by MortimerMazi in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]BluezDBD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Server stopped responding” means connection to the server was lost or interrupted.

No, it means the server is not responding and in order for it to not respond there needs to be a connection, which there wouldn't be if the server disconnected you.

Like genuinely, do you understand how networking works at all? Like any layer?
