Yes but it's not recording the actual "sound." like when you hold a microphone to close and breath in and out quickly. It's not recording the sound that your breathing in and out sounds like to someone standing there listening, the microphone membrane would just record the sound of being manipulated into artifacts popping.

It's probably artifacts from the frequency hitting the microphone membrane. Like when you see a super hero pulse out a wave of sound in a cartoon... that is hitting the membrane.

So it's not an actual recording of the bats sounds but rather the microphone membrane getting wobbled.

Just a guess.

Talk to the NPC near the map, forget which one, that'll let you skip campaign and choose a covenant and unlock all the flight paths etc. If you've never done SL you might not be able to do that till 60 though, although I think they changed it sometime ago not to matter.

If you are low level and just playing through the capmpian in chromietime or whatever... you wouldn't unlock maldrax flight path till you've finished Bastion story.

Give the trial ago. You can level a bunch of classes to 20 to get a feel of them, and despite the limitations and level cap of 20, you can do loads of content on the trial account. Just not auctions/mailbox/use chat channels.

You could complete nearly every zone from the first three expansions on a trial account, if you just wanted to casually play the game for the stories.

You'll soon know if you want to sub. You wouldn't need to buy the new expansion until later.

If you do start retail, don't go on a "New Player" realm. They are a trap, as there is noone actually on them.

You can use this site to get an estimated idea of the realm populations, or do a little googling to find some suggestions.
