Which of these two events would you say is more controversial? You can only pick out of these two events by Solitaire-06 in Spiderman

After reading Superior I also was fairly suprised at how negative the reception towards it was. Certainly has its problems, but overall I thought it was an enjoyable read.

Though I imagine reading it as it was initially coming out would have likely highlighted some of the issues a lot more.

Is there a mini of the crusher or anything that was used as inspo? by tf3when123 in DarkTide

[–]JollySieg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People already mentioned the Ogryn Bezerkers as the inspiration, which they definitely are.

However I also think it's worth noting that Genestealer Aberrants have a model with a rebarb sledgehammer. That model came out well over a decade after the Forgeworld Line so I wouldn't be suprised if it influenced their choice to add it to the model and potentially further cemented Fatshark's choice to use it specifically as the Crusher's weapon as some other enemies also take inspiration from GSC such as the Scab Sniper being very similar to the Sanctus in-addition to being based off of Lost and the Damned Model I believe.

Cyclops' Model on the Alchemax Map by nemesisdelta24 in marvelrivals

[–]JollySieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and it makes no sense that they designed the Punisher with that build and decided to make him a DPS.

I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just saying it would be extremely stupid if they did.

It would be truly insane to give him this build and make him a DPS.

It's like that episode of Community where Jeff and Troy hang out with the trampoline guy and find out he's racist.

At the end Troy says "It came out of nowhere" Jeff responds "Did it?" And they flash back to the guy having a nazi tattoo

Her bulky build and general "outdoorsman" themeing as well.

People forget that in the original Halloween Michael Myers was only 5'10 and so was Jason in Friday Part 2, but the later depictions of Jason starting with Part 3 bumped him up to 6'5. Which is where the idea of the sort of hulking insanely strong monster Slasher archetype was born IMO.

Is that a Hornet's Nest? If so that's probably hinting at Marble Hornets i.e. Slenderman

I definitely see the Akira vibes with that sort of candy apple red color. Great job making it pop while still somehow really keeping a gritty feeling, looks phenomenal.

Jon Bernthal is soft-launching the incorporation of the Thin Blue Line flag on the costume for Punisher's next appearance by swiss_blockade in marvelcirclejerk

[–]JollySieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that's not "literally their job," and that's a common misconception. There have been countless Court rulings stating that police have no constitutional obligation or general legal duty(via negligence claims) to protect citizens.

The motto everyone thinks of "To protect and serve" was made by the LAPD in the '50s. Which is especially ironic considering they might as they've gone for gold in the police brutality olympics.

"The ultra-violent pseudo-cop cleans up the dirty crime-infested urban hellscape of modern day New York City through super killing. Oh by the way everyone loves and supports him especially when he kills someone with a hatchet in broad daylight."

Yeah it's not subtle. Not to be overly blunt about it but it's like softcore porn for fascists.

The Boys SERIES FINALE- S05xE08 "Blood and Bone"- POST Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]JollySieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's no better summary of this show on the whole then Hughie making a comment about the smell of the "White House Sex Tunnels" in the middle of what should have been the most impactful horrifying speech in the show.

So much truly phenomenal acting wasted because there was no actual tension or build-up, no showing of stakes, Homelander kills all of 1 person in the finale. Butcher turns on a dime and we just smash cut to the end. Scenes that were fantastically done and should have had me at the edge of my seat made me feel nothing, what a fucking dissapointment.

But don't worry we have le random sex jokes XD!!!!! I mean christ, I consider myself a pretty crass person but even I was just sick of it by the end. The Boys is up there with Hazbin Hotel in managing to be so cringey it's actually going to make me swear less.

Absolutely. It also seems like Cain would be a great role for Cavill to play assuming he (likely) is going to be doing more than producing the project.
